How do I exchange Lindens for USD and get the money in my RL bank account?

I've tiered down, sold some land and instead of letting the money sit inworld, I think I'll put the money towards a little vacation.

But, I'm a bit nervous about making any attempts to do this without a bit of guidance. I revived my old pay-pal account and now the same banking info is on file with both them and Linden Lab.

That is as far as I've gotten. I'm really not sure what the next steps are. I know that I need to exchange the Lindens for USD and I believe I can do that right from the support website --my account pages.

Anyone able to offer me some direction?

You need to:

- Go to the My Account area on the secondlife.com website, click on "currency exchange", then "sell L$", and exchange your L$ for US$. You will usually get a better deal if you sell at a fixed rate rather than a market sale;

- Use the "process credit" command to transfer this money to a PayPal account;

- Use PayPal to transfer the money into your real bank account.

I just thought of something else. Does it matter that I don't use my paypal account as my payment information here in SL? Or, will I be able to input paypal account information after I process the credit?

You can send the funds to any PayPal account. It doesn't have to be what you use for Payment Info. It asks you for the PayPal info to send the funds to, each time.
