I love changing skins but I was wondering where to go that was pretty cheap. My skins i wear the most cost about $1000. I am just looking for something that costs way less but still looks good. Oh and if this helps I am into darker make-up, kinda goth style but not too dark lol

Try Bare Rose. I don't know your av's gender but they have a lot of skins for either free or one Linden (can't recall which) that are pale/goth in theme. Look for the stack of freebie boxes near the men's dressing room (by the men's clothing in the main room).
Also there is a 10L shop in the back right corner of that sim, and I think it has skins too. Everything in that room is 10 Linden. HTH |

You could go have a look at Pixel Dolls. She just released some new skins, displayed in the main lobby of the mainstore. The prices were really low when I hopped over to have a look. I'm not sure if they will stay that price, but it would be worth having a look this weekend.
*edit - just went back and they are still there for L$150 for each makeup. Available in 4 skin tones and each comes with a mod copy version with freckles and one without. _____________________

Try Paris New York sim, on a corner outdoors there are freebie boxes, one has a lot of female skins.
"Dark makeup" leaves a lot of wiggle room. I love the number of skins and the eye makeup (mostly dark) that comes with the Moon skin set at Redgrave. I fought against buying costly skins too until I finally figured I was tired of being a sketchily drawn 'toon. To me, that particular store offers more in a pack for the money than others do, although some will say otherwise on that (and I"m not affiliated with any shop in SL and hope you get a wide array of replies to your query). How much do you want to spend? I'd advise checking out the skins at the freebie boxes in BR anyway, I think you might like them and not all are pale. They also had 'drow' skins IIRC btw, if anyone else reading this might want some cheap ones in that. To me the freebie skins there could be used for Goth or vamp or other things, I like to have different things on hand and mix/match. If you want glamour-model dark eye makeup, check out the Moon pack at Redgrave though. For the same price as their other packs you get a ton more skins. I mean I have a lot of LM for inexpensive skins, if you pin down closer to what you want let me know in IM in-world and I will send you some. |

my favorite skin was actually $200L and I bought it at Primal Art. I think she only made 2 skins, the one I love is "Kellara" (there is a 'dark' and a 'light' version, I bought the dark then ended up buying the light). I have expensive skins that I put on from time to time for this or that photo but for hanging out, I always wear the skin from Primal Art. (ps that isn't it in my sig by the way, thats a PXL one with freckles)

Try Nomine. Their skins range from L$200 to L$500 each.

Well lets see.....as an avid skin collector I would say check out these....
Pixel Dolls is still having their sale on old skins.....50L a piece and they are wonderful! Also.....Pulse is having a HUGE sale right now so you can get a lot of deals and they make some beautiful stuff....... Also....Eloh Elliot still has her freebies out at Gnube (check the name....just look up Eloh, the link is in her profile) and her freebies are just great! One thing I do on a regular basis is look in classifieds for skin sales....or I'll type 50%....and see what comes up.......so many times I have stumbled on great clearance sales that I never would have found otherwise. I tend to like to buy packages instead of a single skin....and Detour has cute skin packs for decent prices as well. But shop the sales......they happen often enough where you should be able to amp your collection pretty quickly. ![]() |

AMAZING skins...the genitals are awesome as are the nips, faces are like angels...superduper quality ... _____________________
I'm tired of all this nonsense about beauty being only skin-deep. That's deep enough. What do you want, an adorable pancreas?

The original Chai skins are 250L apiece, and very good quality. If you buy a store card, you can get a discount.

Agreed, gala was my first skin, always go back to it... there is a translucent quality to the skin and there are some very unique makeup on the skins, pubs are great as there are some... But, I dont recall any goth type... |

Flesh Peddlars by Posy Trudeau has a very set of inexpensive (500L) skins for both males and females. Not sure about the exact look you're searching for, but it's worth a look.

Agreed on Gala (join the group because they give out great full freebie skin packs sometimes. I'm not in-world to check, but it's called something like Gala and Rita Designs). I'd also suggest haunting the lucky chair and lucky boards at Rockberry, because they have nice skins, too. Clicking the Pixeldolls subscribo will give you a massive pack of clothing, plus a bundle of gorgeous Stella di Roccia skins (and the last time I checked, all SdR skins at Pixeldolls on Port Seraphine were still 50L$ - even fatpacks! - in their long and ongoing sale). A last recommendation is to fork out the 250L$ (I think that's what it is) to join the Tuli group: another generous one for gifts.
EDIT: If you hurry, you can pick up a four-pack of 'Dead Glow' skins at Skinzor, for just 4L$, too. Details and a pic, here: http://sl4nowt.wordpress.com/2009/03/22/skinzors-limited-dollarbie-skin-offer-dead-glow/ _____________________

Eloh's latest Pleiades skins are great freebies with amazing quality. I can't say I'm a fan of the idea of painted on hair, but, I'm having fun with the PSD files. (^_^)
I'm sure Gnubies still has all her skin packs. (^_^)y _____________________

If I understand correctly, these would be great to have for things like the clothing fair, where prim hair is frowned upon. I saw one av with painted-on hair but didn't think to ask where she found the skin - so, thanks! |

Join Cupcakes, Tuli, or Belleza skin groups. They cost 250L to join but well worth the price for all the great FREE skins they give out to their group members. Bebae and Rockberry are also very good skins and offer free skins to their group members. Or you can go to Rockberry and wait for one of the many lucky boards to land on the letter of your name for a free skin. Check the front door of Beauty Avatar for free skin.
Curio/Gala's second floor has their older (still great) skins for only 300L. Symphony Skins is clearing out some older skins and have them on sale for like 100 or 150L right now. Celestial Studios line of skins on sale. Also, its so easy to find free skins now.. Just do one of the million hunts in progress or check out the freebie blogs like http://slondlist.blogspot.com/ (My Second Life on the D-List). _____________________

Cool thanx everyone for the help. Hmm, yeah i am a but confusing lol, my avi has somewhat of an exotic look, kind of asian in a way and I am a vampire as well. So maybe not goth as in light colored skin but let's say dark smoky eyes with fair to medium tan i think i am going for. My avi looks really weird in too pale of skin. Riht now I wear a couple of te Hana ones from RedGrave but my SL funds haven't been too great lately lol, not into working so much but do like to find nice things for a good price.

Breezy, not to thump the drum a third time, but sounds like the BR freebies would be perfect for you.
