How often do you plan to conduct this questionnaire? If you didn't get enough participants yet, just say so. And you should probably reconsider your "incentive" for user participation in this case...

no matter how good or bad the questions are...

the survey itself is hosted at an university, and the OP has been in SL for three months before he posted the survey... which, incidentally, is ALL OVER THE FORUM. 29 posts by that a**hole, every single one about his survey (=us doing his damn homework for him).

if he wants to know about sl that bad, he might want to spend some time in-world instead. nut judging by his profile he hasn't even been to newbie island... no groups, no picks, no nothing.

Sorry, but i'm refusing to do someone else's homework for the meager sum of 50 cents.
my RL hourly rate is more like 100 us$ per hour.
pay me 25 us$ for the 15 minutes and i'll might consider the survey.

Dear all,

I am very sorry about the cross-posting for the Second-Life announcement.

I am very new to the forum environment. I don't know how to behave there. I deeply regret for my mistakes. I am sorry that I am unable to remove those messages. I will make sure it won't happen again.

I am very sorry for what I did.

Regards,

Yet not sorry enough to not start yet another thread, then edit it repeatedly leaving it saying only "Hi."

Next time you do a research project, do a little more research yourself into the etiquette of the venue where you intend to poll. I know of no forum anywhere on the internet where it's acceptable to post the same topic 30 times.

If you are doing research, maybe the first thing you ought to do is research the not only the subject you are posting about, but the tools you are going to use to recruit.

There are these threads that are always at the top of these forums. They are orange and are referred to as "stickies." Reading them means you are reading the rules which are designed to help keep each sub-forum on topic.

In this case, it doesn't matter. What you did would get you banned from every forum in existence, because it amounts to spamming. No one likes a spammer. Not even other spammers!

This is such a lame excuse it makes me puke. You have never set a foot into a forum? You have no idea that spamming users again and again with the same stuff annoys them to no end? WHAT KIND OF AN INTERNET USER ARE YOU???

Honestly, if you don't even have an idea about how the net in general works, forget about doing good research regarding SL. This is doomed to fail.

Um.......go in-world. How can anyone possibly conduct research about a virtual world..... OUTSIDE of it. Until you make a serious effort to actually 'research' what you claim to be researching.......noone else is going to take you seriously.

And further more.....these forums will NOT give anyone an accurate answer on anything when there are potentailly 70000 people in world at a given time. Most of which have no idea these forums exist. If you're interested in finding out more about SL.....then get your a$$ involved and conduct your research on site.

Well the others might have a problem with the research project.. I dont but post it in one of the camping groups to you'll get ALOT more responces.

The forum groupies arent a good group to survey about SL.

edit to add: Ya can see by how they respond.. some of the responces are way past rude.

because surveying zombies and bots is so much better than people that actually use the world?

but I think you're right, there's great untapped potential here... let the surveyors set up (or contract with) camping spots... then we don't have to hear from either =)

Survey-taker-bots!

That would be the best use of bots ever! Just pre-program a few randomized responses... oh, the potential, if only I was a coder.
