I have visited Prescott, AZ and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's not exactly big... and not really near any cities that I could tell although Phoenix is just a few hours drive. It is a dry climate... will definitely be a change. After you get settled, take a drive to the Grand Canyon via Williams, AZ and Sedona.. .breathtaking.
