Hi, i have 2 ground textures, 3 set to plain black and the 1st one set to dead leaves.

I am trying to get it so there are leaves in the middle in a circle shape, and black around the edges and after a good 3 hours playing with the numbers i can only get the south east to go black down to north west, i cannot get any black area in the south west or north east
im assuming bake terrain has 2 be used in this somewhere

What you're trying is very nearly impossible to do well with terrain texturing. (Baking terrain has no effect on terrain textires, and only affects the saved geography, the height map.)

You have two ways this can be done, neither of which gives you much control.

1: Set the lowest two elevations black, and the highest two to leaves. Terraform a circular mound in the center of the sim, making sure everything around it is lower than the mound. Adjust the high and low limits evenly on all 4 corners to get the transition point roughly at the bottom of the mound. The result will be an all black, flat sim, with a leaf mound in the middle. More than likely there will be a lot of stray leaves beyond the edges of the mound, and/or a lot of black mixed into the mound.

2: Set the highest two elevations black, and the lowest two to leaves. Terraform a circular depression in the center of the sim, making sure everything around it is higher than the pit. Adjust the high and low limits evenly on all 4 corners to get the transition point roughly at the edge of the pit. The result will be an all black, flat sim, with a leaf filled pit in the middle, and leaevs around the outer edges of the sim, if the outer edges taper back down below water level. More than likely there will be a lot of stray leaves beyond the edges of the pit, and/or a lot of black mixed into the pit area.

A better approach:

Make all of the terrain black, and make a prim leaf pile, or leaf-textured bowl shape. In the latter case you'll need to terraform a depression for the bowl to sit in. But this will give you a sharp, well-controlled edge to the leaves.
