a friend of mine started 3 days ago, and sicne he started, i cannot find his name on the search peopel.
i am not typoing it, nor does he have "Show in search" in his profiel disabled. he said he can find himeslef in search, but me and antoehr friend of mien cannot find him.

what is going on?

Are you typing the name correctly?

If you tell us the name we can see if we can find it.

If you type just , oh, the first letter or two of the first name and the first letter or two of the last name can you find it in the list?

There's been many a time I was sure I entered something correctly and turned out to have done it wrong. It never hurts to double check, or even triple or quadruple check.

For that matter, if you have the spelling of a word wrong in your mind, and you type that wrong spelling accurately, it's not a typo, it's a spelling error, but still the wrong sequence of characters.

Hmm, I wonder if international alphabets with look-alike characters could be involved. Or even a zero vs. oh sort of thing.

sometimes it can be delayed by a week.

i made an alt, and now i can't get it to log in to the website. i paid my alt some cash, but she never got it last time i was able to get in. dunno now.

but now, i can't log her in to the webby or SL inworld, and i can't find her in search.

sounds like SL is borked. maybe have your friend put in for a support ticket.

I'm not sure I get the connection, but, this provides an opportunity to moan about CAPTCHA.

It's not unusual for it to take me several tries to get through them.

One time when SL threw a CAPTCHA at me it took twelve different images before I could get it. I had my glasses on, I think. Sheesh!

After reading that, I'm guessing that maybe you did type it wrong in search.

In all seriousness, I have had issues finding names in search before also...and it ends up being that I didn't use a capital letter where it needs to be.

I hate those too. And some or so freaking hard to see.
I did find that if you hit the refresh thing a few times it will eventually give you something easier to make out.

It's possible he might have unchecked the option to show his profile in search. Ask him to have a look at his profile and see if this is the case.
