Downloaded XP upgrade SP3 today, now mouse pionter flickers on SL, ok on my computer for other things. Anyone had this, how did you solve?

It might have to do with the vertical refresh. Possibly checking your video settings to make sure that the 3D graphics are set to refresh the screen during the vertical blank interrupt might make s a difference.
You might try uninstalling and reinstalling SL.

Thanks, June what was your need to upgrade to SP3? it may be too new of a SP for SL to support. you may need to uninstall SP3 and go back to SP2...yikes....good luck  |

Microsoft have recomended the upgrade to SP3, the auto upgrade messed my 2 PCs up.
HP Support put me on to Microsoft.
Microsoft have now discovered a problem with AMD processers I'm not sure if limited to HP but certainly HP AMDs. I do not understand the technical details, not an expert that is why I come here with SL things and you kindly help me.
Anyway Microsoft Support spent 5 hours connected to my PCs via remote control and several 'phone calls from the other side of the world to me and sorted the thing out for me.
I can't give them anything but praise for this excellent service given to me.
I do not know if the problem is the responsability of Microsoft or AMD or how HP loaded the XP in the manfacture.
All I hope is now Microsoft know what went wrong with mine they will be able to address the Update to make it OK for others.
A day after I discovered the mouse flicker/dissappearing pionter on 3d applications so I posted here. Also had a feeling it might be graphic card so e-mailed the maker, he replyed today and said " un-install driver in Remove programmes for Nvidia drivers and go to Nvidia web site and re-install". I did just now and all is well.
