How often do LL read new tickets? once a week, once a month or once a year?

I opened a new ticket days ago and it is still flagged as new:(

It is a p... in the ... since it is about a mainland region with a time dilation never higher than 0.84.
The region probably needs a restart and only LL can restart a mainland region.

Anybody know a work around?

To get a sim reset? You could try crashing it.. I don't know how to do that - LL doesn't take kindly to such things.

Got a region name? Maybe it's something that doesn't require a reset... (I'm working for a couple more hours but somebody else might take a look)

Not that I would Recommend This, but... if the Name of the Afflicted Region were posted in forums, someone with Concierge level service might, ah... Take It Upon Themselves, (purely hypothetically speaking, of course!) to Say Something, and get it restarted forthwith.

Of course, the Odds that someone with that kind of Access, would by Sheer Chance visit said region, is, well, Improbable. And Especially since they would Call Anyway with No Regard to your forum post whatsoever, Should They Happen to Be There.

Purely Hypothetically,

Des

I have land there so I would never crash it.
Since I don't get the service I pay for I must find someone that can be bribed.
Anybody know anyone inside LL that can be bought?;)

Wait a minute -- LL reads those tickets. I thought we were just submitting them for our own documentation purposes.

/me looks around on the region for 15 minutes or so. Somebody else popped in for a minute but aside from that, it's just me here. Sim fps is pretty much stuck at 37-38, which is pretty low for a region with only one person on it.

Strangely enough, it's consistantly reporting 5-6ms of 'spare time', which seems odd - maybe I don't understand that stat...

Sim says there's about 2400 active scripts and EPS seems to stick just under 400, which isn't even a little bad.

Physics time is higher than I'd expect at a steady +3ms. I don't see any physical objects, execpt your balloons and those look pretty sane. They're temp objects but it's just one prim, once every 30 seconds or so. Not exactly friendly but nowhere near unfriendly enough to explain the lag.

Packet in/out look fine, unacked bytes is about 10x better than my home, ping sim is nice and steady.

The spare time stat sticking at 5-6ms is really strange. The wiki says..
From: Teh wiki
Spare Time - The amount of time at the end of executing a single frame. This is the best indication of load if the region is running at 45fps. A larger number here is better - it indicates headroom for more work that can be done before the region frame rate would drop.

...which is pretty much what I thought. I don't see why this would not be zero if the sim fps seems to max out at 38. It's almost like the sim config got messed up and thinks that 38 is the fps is should be at instead of 45.

/me confesses to having no idea what the problem is but I only looked closely at the ground level then did a really quick scan up to 1000m.

Hm.. Yes.. What are the chances of such a person being around here, though, and wondering about the Nautilus - Suniaton region?

Hmmm... unfortunately, the Purely Hypothetical Good Samaritan with Concierge Access would likely look at those stats, and become a bit dismayed.

Because with that information, it sounds like there are scripts still running, scripts that have disassociated themselves from prims and whose processes have not halted.

And the Purely Hypothetical Good Samaritan with Concierge Access might then realise that a simple restart won't do it, unless scripts in the region were halted first, the region restarted and then the scripts started again for the entire region, when it came back. Thus ending the rogue processes.

Quite a shame. The only other possibility is if the Image Cache values are spiking too high, but region performance is anything but consistent when that happens, other than usually being Much Worse.

Sounds like this will be a job for someone responsible for grid performance who can spend some time looking at it, probably more than what a Purely Hypothetical Good Samaritan with Concierge Access could get away with, or anyone working the concierge desk would have time for.

D'oh.. If it is phantom scripts, a Linden is definitely needed - welcome to the Mainland.. Sorry, Dora. (it may well be something else but I didn't spot it.. edit: Des is annoyingly right about stuff, tho)

The 'spare time' stat is less of a mystery. I TPed around and saw plenty of regions reporting that they had time to spare, even though they were < 45 sim fps. I think it's just broken or one of those things that only people like Andrew understands. Also ran into Guy Linden and asked him about it but he confessed to not being up on that one - good to see Guy around anyway. :)

Thank you Sindy, I even pay money to the Linden Lab so they can keep the sim working.

It is so good of you people to take a close look at sim. I love the the Purely Hypothetical Good Samaritan with Concierge Access introduced by Des. It is becoming a matter of faith now:) Who shall I believe in? the good Samaritan, God or Linden Lab. This brings me back to my initial question: when do LL read tickets? I did open a ticket about it. Now I will add some prayers too:)

The matter is a serious one, but you guys gave me some joy! Thank you.
