No longer the owner of my own stuff?

I am again dashing about at the wrong time of year moving.I was taking copies from some some updated items in my store for transfer to the new venue.Always in a hurry ,I repeatedly clicked a particular line trying to copy,mind swithed off not really thinking.I could not copy it,and so thinking the servers were playing up again ,carried on taking copies of other stuff with no trouble.

I came back to the problem item and tried again,no go,so I went into edit and lo and behold, I am no longer the owner!!!! So how can this happen?

First thing I did was check inventory and rezzed an old version ,no problem ,I am the creator/owner with mod/ copy perms
.I checked sales and sure enough I sold a copy to the new owner 2 weeks ago.This guy did not contact me and must have the item so what has happened? Shall I return the item to him and rez another? and forget it........ Puzzled...

What time did this happen? Sl is currently working on Asset servers and advise not messing with objects right now..

Sounds more like he left the item on your land, I've had this happen before, especially when an item is boxed.

Could the prim accidentally have been set to sell original instead of sell contents or sell copy? Just because the guy didn't complain doesn't mean he got it, mind you. :)

a few things in my store ... old items that had always and forever been sell a copy of..
suddenly must have changed to sell original.. all on thier lonesome.

have no idea how it happens but every 6 months or so, it does.

other permissions sometimes get borked too.. who knows why it happens.

I have had that happen too, changed from sell copy to sell original

also have had permissions change on me (thankfully nothing changed to full perm) annoying just the same though
