Much to my amazement, they actually asked someone I know for some of those details! I must find out his SL name and make sure I haven't been deploying my add-on genitalia with him. Or her. Or whatever...

(and yes, it was Anshe Chung's interview that was interrupted, so I suppose from a mediacentric perspective it was "a journalist" who got interrupted)

I really wish we could just sweep this under the rug- last night rl husband who is most not computer savy and or interested but hates SL with a passion told me he heard some new article about two people having an online affair thru secondlife and when one got dumped the injured party - get this- hired a hitman within SL to off the offending party.. /me shakes head- it's not the idiocy of the report- it's the now have to fend of yet another round of "what r you doing in there anyway?" questions... argh- leave my sl alone dammit! stoopid media people why cant they go bug someone else- i hear the new president elect hates dogs and is being forced to get one- how can u trust a dog hater? nah just made it up- wtf- same chance of being true ans any other piece of garbage the media reports. /me goes off ranting under her breath...

Some glaring errors in that article, and seems to confuse more than one virtual world.

"Participants can verbally communicate by voice or by typing speech that appears in a bubble above their character. "

Speech does not appear in a bubble over the head of avatars in SL, but does in other virtual worlds.

"...the intercourse is usually an animated sequence triggered by a click of the mouse on an interactive 'node'.."

'Node'? The article writer has obviously not heard of poseballs, or the sexgen-type menu system.

A poor article, in MHO.

You CAN have chat bubbles above SL avatars. It's an option in Edit/Preferences/Text Chat.

And I think the writer's choice of "nodes" is more comprehensible to the non-SL-user than "poseballs".
