Can't TP to map coordinates

(I'm reposting this from another thread, because it's bugging the heck out of me.)

Something is borked.

Last night, I wanted to tp to a different location in my own sim, a spot that I don't have a LM for. I opened the Map, and entered the coordinates. The Teleport button remained grayed out.

I tried entering specific coordinates in other sims. Same thing.

Now, I distinctly remember that this USED to work. When did it stop?

I finally managed to get where I wanted to go by a laborious workaround...I used Copy SLURL to Clipboard from the map, pasted it into local Chat, said the magic word, and then clicked on the live SLURL that appeared in the Chat History window.

Can someone a) confirm that I'm not the only one seeing this, and b) confirm that it's some new borkishness, and not just something I never noticed before? If so, I'll file a JIRA on it.

It worked for me as recently as two nights ago.

You didn't specify which version...

For sims you searched for you can just adjust the coordinates.
For the sim you're on (default map view) you'll need to click on its map first to get the little red circle before you enter the coordinates.

Works fine for me on 1.20.15 :).

There's just the little oddness about having to first click on the map if you want to tp to a sim you're already on.

(Or if you click Clear Destination you'll loose it too obviously. I guess short hand rule: Teleport grayed out, click on the sim first :p. & It's been like that for a long, long while now)

I'll try that when I get home and can get in world, Kitty. Thanks.

N.

I have the same issue. From this, it looks like I am doing something wrong. I thought I could put in any coordinates and TP to them, but it does not work that way. What am I doing wrong? I can't figure out what makes the TP box greyed out.

Make sure you haven't clicked on a no-sim area before then entering the correct sim name and coordinates.

Follow-up:

Kitty's right. If you click somewhere in the map of the sim to get a red "destination circle", it will then allow you to enter the exact coordinates you want and teleport there.

Odd, that it won't let you do that simply from your "current location".

Probably because you can't get the red circle within a few meters of where you are without having it go *poof*.

And if it would show then you'd get the little red arrow each time you merely just open the map which most people would probably just find annoying.

The quickest (when the grid isn't acting up to make the map lookup slow) would be:
* Open the Map (default focus is on the sim name you're on)
* <Enter> (Presses search and highlights the first result which will be the sim you're on)
* <Tab> (Puts the focus onto the X coordinate) XXX
* <Tab> YYY
* <Tab> ZZZ <Enter> (Teleports)

This will fail if you're near 128, 128 though (see first paragraph).

This only works within the same SIM it seems. I type in coordinates to a different region and it still wont TP me there.

Ok, figured it out by reading other threads, You cannot TP to another SIM if you don't know its name.

This means that to TP anywhere you must know the SIM name AND coordinates.

The reason is all SIMs use the same coordinate system x,y,z.

The steps are:
1) Enter the SIM name and click search
2) Enter the coordinates and click Teleport.

Wyatt is correct. It takes two actions to get the teleport to work. First you type in the region name and wait for the region to be displayed. Then you type in the coordinates and the teleport button should become live. Click on it and it will work.
