Ready Jack is a Selfish fuckwit. I said it at the time when he ruined NP and I'll say it again now. I've contributed to themed sims both for pleasure and profit and would never decimate a build the scale of NP just because I disaproved of the lack of managment or ongoing development. I remember reading at the time, he said he felt undervalued and felt he didn't recieve proper recognition for his work. Big deal, what did he expect? A fucking parade. Gold statue of him in the middle of the city? He helped build something cool, people came and they appreciated it. That should be enough recognition. If you are not happy with the projects development then you leave. Simple as that.
......and relax. _____________________

My first day in SL was rather chaotic. The viewer crashed before I finished logging in, so I missed the tutorial island, etc., and ended up in Morris, surrounded by... well... the sorts of people who stay in Morris all the time. I recall one of them wearing pictures of george bush covering his naughty bits, and a rainbow-be-dazzled cross on his back. I quickly evactuated for safer pastures.
A few days later, I was searching (randomly) for things of interest, and tried the term "Shadowrun." This lead me to Nexus Prime. The splash page for it looked incredible, just what I was looking for, so I quickly hit the Teleport button. Imagine my surprise to see a few staticky televisions and an apology message from Spider. Nexus Prime was dead, and I never even got to see it in it's glory. Shadowrun in SL for me, is dead. Imagine my surprise (and horror) moments later to find the adjacent sim to be the same welcoming area I'd fled on my very first day! I'd started so close to Nexus.... and yet, so far. Rest in pieces, Nexus Prime. |

Been holding back saying much, but a few positive things simply must be said.
1. Ready, and *everyone* else on the Nexus Prime project gave more to the grid than could ever be taken away. I think everyone can appreciate the inspiration even if it is gone now; even if its demise wasn't pretty. Might we all succeed so well, to be notorious when it's over. 2. The spirit of Nexus Prime lives on, in The Wastelands. If Nexus was a stark harbinger of future cities, The Wastelands are its country. Among the shattered glass, melted sand and broken freeways you'll find some of the most incomparable art on the grid, and one of the best communities anywhere. Somewhere out in that vast wasteland, for you to find if you choose to look - is a scorched Caledon flag - our final battleflag, bearing the creator tag of Montferrand. It is in honour of the inspiration that the Nexus Prime community has been to me, and my own success in other venues. _____________________
