Flickr is the dominant platform for this right now

I have played around with this one as well, but Flickr just has far more volume, and a far larger community, which makes it more fun for me.

The new Photoshop Express site gives you more photo editing tools then the photo sharing sites I have seen, but not enough to really be useful for editing content for SL. However, it is still in beta and could continue to get better in the future. I don't know if you can do direct linking so you can imbed images in a chat forum like this, probably not since the PE site seems to display photos in a flash format.
They are asking for input on what they need to add to the site. _____________________

I don't know after reading friend's blog discussing the term of service not sure I want to bother with it yet. And my medium isn't photos. Adobe is well aware that they made a mistake in the wording of the TOS. They've promised to make appropriate changes. http://www.news.com/8301-10784_3-9906064-7.html We've heard your concerns about the terms of service for Photoshop Express beta. We reviewed the terms in context of your comments - and we agree that it currently implies things we would never do with the content. Therefore, our legal team is making it a priority to post revised terms that are more appropriate for Photoshop Express users. We will alert you once we have posted new terms. Thank you for your feedback on Photoshop Express beta and we appreciate your input. _____________________

So it's nothing like using photoshop then, just another storage site looks like.

Online programs are popping up, like this and the Aviary suite. It's a logical way for things to go.

It's another example of mismanagement of the Photoshop brand. If anything, they should have stuck the word "album" in there to make it clearer as to what the program actually does.

It's another example of mismanagement of the Photoshop brand. Amen. I really wish they'd quit it already. It's so misleading. If anything, they should have stuck the word "album" in there to make it clearer as to what the program actually does. While we're on that track, how about dropping the word "shop" from Photoshop Album? Not only does the program have nothing to do with Photoshop, but it also just plain sounds silly. Forget for a moment that Photoshop happens to be a well known title, and think about it literally. If one spent time in an actual photography shop putting together an album, would one then say "Look at my photo shop album"? No, of course not. Obviously, the only right thing to say would be "Look at my photo album". So why not just use that? Adobe Photo Album actually has a nice ring to it, and it would describe the product perfectly. Adobe Photoshop Album does neither. The online service could then simply be called Photo Album Online. Again, the sound of it is pleasing, and it describes the service in no uncertain terms. Photoshop Express, on the other hand, is double misnomer. The service not only has nothing to do with Photoshop, it's also pretty hard to see what exactly is "express" about it. "Express" usually means quick and/or light. But Photoshop Express is no quicker than any other photo hosting site, nor is it lighter on features. If the intended meaning is something like "this is where you got to express yourself through sharing your photos", all I can say is it's a poorly conceived pun indeed that makes you hunt and stretch for its definition. But I suppose even Photo Album Express is better than Photshop Express if we need to compromise here. Then there's Photoshop Lightroom, which also has nothing to do with Photoshop. That should simply be called Adobe Lightroom; drop the "Photoshop" altogether. Photoshop Elements is the only one that arguably should get to keep its name. It at least looks and behaves like it's related to Photoshop. None of the others do. _____________________

Oy, if it doesn't allow embedding, I'd consider that plain useless. I really love Picasa for its free-ness and ease of use, but embedding is a hit-or-miss thing (sometimes you have to manually add little tags to the picture links), and on some other album sites, it's simply not supported. _____________________
