The guy next to me just lowered the sale price of his parcel, but he was also trying to rent it also. So it looks like he got a bite on the rental.
My question is, If I buy the parcel, can I still keep the renter on it?

If it is mainland, there is no reason you can't do anything you want, assuming the renter would want to stay.

That would be up to the renter.

My question is, If I buy the parcel, can I still keep the renter on it? If you purchase the land, contact the person renting it and ask if they are happy to remain on the plot with you as their new 'landlord' - and you may want to check how they currently pay rent as it may be via a rental box that cannot be transfered to you from the current owner?

You will also want to know if they have already paid rent, and for how long, to the previous owner. Do you charge them again? Take the hit on the first rent payment? If they don't want to stay, kick them off with a refund or no refund? Could be a sticky issue depending on the answers to those questions.
