We have a JIRA http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4601 which documents a problem with the Windlight viewer (various versions).

The person that posted it and me both have NVIDIA Quadro graphics cards, and I am wondering if that is the common factor.

So if you have one of those cards, or even an NVIDIA card that isn't a Quadro, could you test Windlight and post a comment to that JIRA whether or not you hare seeing the issue that is shown? It's pretty easy to see, if you are having it. Whether you are or not, could you post a comment with the graphics card name and whether or not you are having the issue?

Hopefully this will help LL get to the bottom of the issue.

Thanks! :)

Dual desktop

That almost looks like a dual desktop feature..where other windows opened appear transparent to provide the abiltity to work in various windows without occlusion.

Have they checked to see if maybe theres not some feature or special attraction with their card that they've enabled?

I have an nvidia 8800 I'll go check.

The windows aren't solidly there - they are distorted, smudged, sometimes magnified.

So far we only seem to be seeing this on the Quadro cards.... would be nice to get some more information on who is having the problem and (as important) who isn't, espcieally those using NVIDIA cards.

I have an nvidia 6200 w/256mb RAM on my spare computer and SL refuses to run on it.... I get an error message dialogue box telling me that it's now unsupported hardware, yada, yada.... :\ I *can* use the nvidia 8400 w/512mb RAM on my main computer but quite a few of the grafix options are greyed out. I tried windlight but it was so sluggish I went back to the regular viewer.
