My SL has been VERY slow and crashing and during one of the crashes I was changing clothes to an 80s outfit for an 80s event....came back, inventory was fine. I was able to go camp (my SL wedding is going to kill my L's lol) and when I went to change clothes, I found that my inventory doesn't exist!
I have all the folders, for example, I have a folder just for "shoes" and under that, there are all the folders for all the shoes I've purchased, but those folders don't have the arrow to the left of the folder, so I can't open them.
I have nothing in LM's or Notecards.
I haven't accepted anything from anyone that I don't know. I did delete a few Misc. shirts that weren't in a folder...they were titled something like "SL Male"....I did have a hard drive crash (unrelated to SL) and when I came back, I had to dl the new viewer. I haven't cleared any cashes. It's just like I was fine and then boom....inventory GONE.
Please tell me I can get my inventory back somehow ......Please tell me I'm not going to be stuck in 80s wear for the rest of my SL life!
I'm afraid to buy an outfit because it might not be there when I log in again.

Relog. Your inventory should show up.
If it doesn't move into an empty sim then relog again.
If it still doesn't show up, clear your client cache (there is a button for it on the preferences) and relog.
I truely doubt your inventory is gone, and I doubt even more that it is permanently gone.

The fixes offered should work but you may have to do them more than once.
This issue usually happens due to a communications hangup between SL's asset server and your viewer. Your stuff is all still there, it's just not being made available to you because the connection is temporarily hosed.
Clearing the cache and relogging re-establishes that connection and forces your viewer to go re-query the server for a new list and will often clear it up.
