I just logged into my alt a bit ago, after not being on her for almost 8 months, and she had a balance of -$2L. After further investigation, i discovered that a group i was in for a clothing shop has withdraw $1L twice in the last 30 days.. Is there a way to tell if groups charge fees? Is this the information that shows in the Land & L$ tab on the group info?

After you join a group, go into group info and go to the Members and Roles tab, then select the Abilities subtab, scroll down to the Accounting section (near the bottom) and highlight the "Pay group liabilities and receive group dividends" ability and see what roles are listed. If you have any of those roles (most group owners don't know that the "Everyone" role is on by default), then you will be paying a portion of any expenses of the group (usually parcel search fees).

Please let the group owner know about this...it is most likely an error in the group settings...these settings have also been known to reset by themselves in error. If you let the group owner know they can fix the situation.

is this going to charge me $30L? That 30 L$ fee will be divided up between all group members who are responsible for group liabilities. In any group with 30 or more members who qualify for such, the most you would be personally charged would be L$1. |

Incidentally, the money earned when selling group-owned land is distributed between all those with the "liability" role. (Hence the "...and receive group dividends"  . That's usually when group owners realize they have everybody in that role. -I have several times had a panicked group owner IM'ing and begging after suddenly receiving a substantial amount of money.  |
