Any way to still get the screenshot of the last location in 1.19?

Small little question. In the previous SL releases, you used to see an image of the last place you where in when logging into the same spot (while the progress bar was logging you in the entire screen used a screenshot of your last location). Now it doesn't do that any more it seems. Any way to still enable it from debug settings so it can do it again?

Under the Advanced (or Client) menu, in Debug Settings, check UseStartScreen, you want it set to TRUE. While you're in there, see if PrecachingDelay is still enabled (default is 6 seconds).
(If you're one of those unlucky souls whose SL crashes on quit, it could also be that those snapshots aren't being grabbed.)

I think the question is really why you're not seeing this; I've always gotten that with the RC viewer, and I'm not aware of a way to tell the viewer not to do this. Depending on your OS, somewhere there's a directory named for your avatar that should contain the file "screen_last.bmp"--the same directory with all the IM log files, settings.xml, etc. It may be interesting to see if that file exists, and whether it's getting updated when logging out.

If you ever need a quick check of where you were last (on a Windows computer, at least) then enable viewing of hidden files and folders in Windows*, then navigate to: C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Roaming\SecondLife. In that final folder will be folders for your avatar (and any alts that you have). And inside those folders you'll see one or two .bmp images, depending on whether you always log at home/last known location or have logged at both. One will be called screen_home and one will be screen_last. I can't tell you how to get them to show on your viewer, but that's a quick way of checking, anyway.
*Required because the AppData folder is a hidden folder in Windows.

can i delete those folders, or will that wreck my SL setup? You can delete them, but you will lose all your settings.

From: Darien Caldwell You can delete them, but you will lose all your settings. In fact, that is often the easy way to restore to "factory default", rather than uninstalling and reinstalling.
