Ok, I was at a live show, when I TPed in my skirt was as I made it... the after a few weird prompts from my huddles saying dancer removed from danceball my skirt has captured text from what appears to be various people at the show....

Was I hacked/griefed etc..? right now I can not get my original skirt back because it is transparent with only the text. I have taken a snapshot and would really like to understand why this happened...

(added) I see the right texture when I go into appearances...

It seems none of my SL skirts work now! I put them on and nothing shows up..

rebake character textures and it should fix it

Someone said going into appearance mode and then putting on your skirt helped.

I hope they fix this soon for you ladies.

I was in appearance.... I did take it off and retry. I reloged cleared cache. still no skirts.
oh and sl crashed on me just like 2 sec ago

i can see the skirts in the viewer Second Life 1.19.1 (4) Apr 2 2008 11:59:37

did you try rebaking textures? i had this happen a few weeks ago and that fixed it

You can do it from the Character sub-menu but it's exactly the same thing.

A workaround that works: Put your skirt on, go into Appearance, take the skirt off and put it on again, exit from Appearance.

Same thing happened to me about 4 months ago.
I tp'd to a friend that is well versed in SL kinks, who tried everything to fix my issue or even duplicate it herself with no luck.

One day, after a mandatory upgrade the issue stopped. Very strange bug.

They've known about it since October and, according to (I believe) BigPapi Linden during Pastrami's office hours, they're now blaming it on user side network issues. Never mind that the problem didn't exist until the return of Windlight or that it would be very peculiar for such issues to affect only skirts and not other clothing or textures...nope, not their fault.

I would say it is a bizarre asset server issue. My wife had the occurrence last night where textures would first rez as the log-in page to SL website, then eventually the textures would load correctly. She had not been to that page recently so it was not a graphics card cache or memory issue. It would happen every region she would TP into.

Had the exact same thing happen to me as well and it stayed that way until I shutdown SL and restarted it. It wasn't the SL page though, it was the last page I had open in my browser (Hippopay I believe). Made for some amazingly crazy looking avatars when their skins/cloths would load as the web page before eventually loading correctly (and it could take some minutes for avatars).

There is another bug thats back (pops up it seems every year) that has your skirt take the texture of your surroundings on it when you put it on like super imposing. The way to get it back is to go into appearance and move the slider one or two numbers. Not enough to make a big difference in length but it will kill the bug and go back to the orginal texture. Only problem it has to be modify and so if its not you need to contact the creator and ask for a modify no transfer copy to fix the problem. Just explain it is a bug and that is the only way to fix it.
