I dunno if there are legal issues reguarding this idea but don't think there should be, my avatar shape is my own.. maybee this is a really dumb question also, dunno... Is there anyway to "export" this to a program like blender? Thinking first off would be kool and secondly the normal avatar is... ugly and if I were using the offline builder for av, clothes, accessories, etc.. or try to texture something like clothing, skins, etc.. it may be an easy/easier way to go.

Let me know, thanks

This is probably a question for texturing tips forum but I don't think there would be any legal issues, I had really not heard of anyone doing it before.

This is a building tips question, I think, because it involves the avatar mesh. I believe someone recently made a tool that would deform the standard avatar shape in proportion to the sliders. From there you could export the shape and do things with it.

First of all, bear in mind that you can't modify the avatar mesh offline and then bring it back into SL. SL doesn't work that way. You CAN however, use an offline version of the mesh for doing texture work in programs that support painting on meshes (Deep Paint 3D, Photoshop CS4, ZBrush, etc). You can download the mesh from the main site, it's one of the downloadable things in there somewhere.

Texture forum covers stuff around clothes, avatars, 3d meshes..
if you can understand half of stuff they are talking about.
Building prims and sculpties for some reason though sculpties are
texture based I thought.

there seems to be a bit of a debat on which forum, it does sorta sound like building since it does tech involve a sculpty or 3d image... But really looking for a more personalized avatar outside of sl... Mostly is because the shape on main site looks very pixilated outside and (perhaps me) but looks completely diff when I design a texture for that shape and later apply it to my own in world. I was hoping cause I saw an export to xml in debug, *laughs a bit here* thought could also texture it with skin/clothing and import as a sculpty later
