Apologies if this has been asked before...
I saw the posts about how far up the security orbs "protect" property but really I am just curious as to what is considered someone's property...In other words, I have someone who has built some weird castle extension above my house - doesn't bother me but if I wanted a skybox above my house what should I do? How much of the sky does someone own (lol, sounds so dumb, that question!)?

If it's directly above the land you paid for and own/rent, then it's your sky. Forever. You can return their objects and LL won't get mad at you, the person building above your land is at fault in this case
Your owned property literally extends upward until you can't go anymore (So...forever and ever and ever...more or less)

It's simple, really: you own your parcel's x/y footprint all the way up. If somebody else puts a prim anywhere up there that overhangs your parcel, it's a violation--but quite possibly a useful one (as long as the root prim of an assembly doesn't get on your parcel, in which case it would count against your total). What I mean is, you might work a deal with your neighbor that lets both of you have more space, just separated vertically. Especially now that the sky has risen a few thousand meters, there's lot of room up there to spread out, if done amicably.

HippoSECURE can network with other HippoSECURE units, though, with a common access list, and therefore can cover a larger area.

Thank you for your clear and helpful responses! I never even considered his overhang affecting my prim count, might check that just to see.

Hmm....one of my neighbors keeps stealing 2 prims of allowance. I return it, she puts it back, I return it, she puts it back. Perhaps I should fly up and go see what it is that's so important to keep putting it back overlapped. *heehee* I imagine it being an entire corner wall of her skyhome? *giggles*

It's been said that if the center of the prim is on your neighbors land then returning the encroaching prims will not work. If that turns out to be the case you can file an AR to have Linden Lab take care of it but it is usually worth trying to contact your neighbor first to see if they will take care of it themselves.

Maybe she'll give up, do something else, and then you can reenable them.

Maybe she's infuriated that "SL is losing my prims. I keep putting them back and a bit later, they disappear!! WTF?? Fix it already LL!!!" Try talking to her.
