Hello residents. I would like to make a building with some conference rooms, and i would like to restrict the sound or chat typing to be heared from outside the room area.. or not to hear the sound chating from outside the room ... in side. Is there a way to do it? script, technic, product to buy?. Thank you.

I don't believe that there is any way to do this if you are typing of voicing on the public channel. Not only that, but voicing is audible by whoever chooses to cam in to the room from a long way away outside.
So no, not a way to do private things that I know of.

not need to be private

I don't need it private .. just a way to not be annoyed but next room talking or not to anoy the others. For instance, i make a school and need clasrooms.. i have to make a corridor of 10m wide one from the other.. well that is not a really big problem.. but in a flat a room over an other it is. I don't mind if some one comes in and hears the talks.. just a way to make walls act as walls.

I don't think there is any way to do what you describe other than leaving spaces between the rooms. The text and voice chat will always go through the walls.

Would it be possible to carve up the area into small land parcels with restricted audio?

Small parcels can limit the range of streaming audio and video. That won't go past the parcel boundary.
Audible Voice Chat can be set at the parcel level to use an estate channel, or a private channel for the parcel, the latter I believe restricts Voice to that parcel. Of course, a parcel can also ban Voice chat.
Text chat can only be limited by distance.

I would just use private IM. I think you can hear chat at least 20sm away.

From: Kira Cuddihy I would just use private IM. I think you can hear chat at least 20sm away. Yes - this is a solution - you could set up a group and have a group IM chat session (like the Linden Town Hall sessions), or individually invite people (from a friends list) into a conference chat.

I think what the OP is asking, is there a way to turn off the sound effects so when you are in a room, those peole inside the room will not hear the clacking sounds of of poeple who are outside the room and typing. Or did I read that all wrong? On an individual level, each person can open the volume control and turn the "sound" slider all the off. No more woo, clacking or high heel clicking Also in the debug setting from the client menu, you can turn off playing the typing animation and you will no longer make the sounds. Sorry, I can't remmber the name of the varible to toggle
