Hi everybody,
I will probably have to build two houses/buildings/whatever (lol) next to each other in one parcel or more. I say more because one thing I am pretty sure (compared to the fact that I dont know what the buildings, installation will look like) is that it will must have the possibility to have at least 2 different videos, probably more and as far as I understood you must have severals parcels because one parcel = one video or at least one parcel = one set of video/media controls. Right ?
So i wonder which choice would be the best : renting land and asking to the land owner to subdivise the parcel or buying land so I would have total control on the subdivision of the parcel ??? Would there be a problem with asking to land-lords ? Is that something that is well accepted by most of them, you think ???
Thanks for any help.

fabbio you are going to have problems subletting property. in addition to the video dilemma you will also have the group issue. you are going to have to ask your landlord to add your renters to the group unless you intend to leave autoreturn off and baby-sit the parcel. land is dirt cheap right now, and if you want to rent out land you realistically need to own it.
and i believe landowners generally frown on subletting because it has the great potential to create headaches for them.

First thanks for your reply.
So you mean that the very used option that is to rent on a private sim is a bad idea ? But if I appear as the only one owner of the land ??? Will there still be probs with the landlords if I ask for subdivison parcels in the goal of having several different video controls ??
Thanks.

Why do you want the separate video controls? I'm not sure what your goal is here. Do you want to run 2 video streams at the same time? For public viewing?

You could just install a Silver Stream Network player/screen into each property. This system doesnt require parcels to operate/control media and.. you can have one on each floor, all showing different media streams from the incorporated and fully modifiable playlists within each player/screen. Whats more, the players are not land bound and do not require media permissions, only the ability to drop ojects and run local scripts. The players will play any QT compatible media, which is actually nothing to do with SL, but is dependant on the viewers QT version. If you need more information/advice, either checkout our website (click the Silver Stream Icon near the bottom of the page) and or IM me ingame, I'll gladly show you the working system and install it for you.
