me too, and I can't get any part of the website except the forums and the blog - everything else just goes to the Grid satus page which says SL is offline.

I was inworld 5 minutes ago, no problems, now it seems to be down?

EDIT: whatever it was I'm in now - website still not working though.

Getting the same System Down page. OF course there is nothing on their shiny new status page. I guess I'm expecting too much.

I'm in for a while, but Tps are borked and database stuff in general is slow.
Website just gives the status page.

Meanwhile the RSS feed for Second Life Grid Status is silent.

I declare the weekend officially open!!!

Tried to just check anything.. get the "Grid offline" message.. which means something is seriously borked and it isn't the grid.

Why am I ALWAYS on a tiny private island when TPs go down? Why does it never happen when I'm on mainland, so I could at least run around and explore?

After the third try, I was logged in, however slightly Ruthed in shape!

I guess there are now 4 places to check status:

The Blog blog.secondlife.com
Second Life Grid Status Reports status.secondlifegrid.net
Second Life Status www.secondlife.com/status
The Forums forums.secondlife.com

At this moment, only www.secondlife.com/status indicates there is a problem, well also these forums.

It was better when they just posted it in the blog, you know, before Kate expanded communication.

Edit: status.secondlifegrid.net has an entry now.

From the new Status page:

Logins and other db-related services slow
Posted by Status Desk on May 2nd, 2008 at 01:58 pm PDT

[1:53 pm Pacific] A sudden heavy load on the database is causing slow logins and inhibiting access to the support portal, and may be impacting in world transactions for some residents as well. We’ll keep you posted as we work to assess and correct the problem.

Just got in, after trying to get in for the last half hour. I did get once before, but ended up being 3 feet tall (usually 7 feet 2) and had no hair and decided to try and log back in. After a few minutes of trying to log in, I was able to login with my avatar being the normal height and with hair. I'm going to still hold off with transactions and rezzing items for a bit, just in case.
