I've seen some mega prims that seem to have the interior of them textured.......can anyone explain how this is done?

In edit, choose select texture, and click the side of the prim you want to texture.
If you mean texturing the hollow inside of a prim, that will all be one texture, not four.

Texturing the interior of a megaprim is no different than texturing the interior of any other prim. Make it hollow, and you have a single interior surface you can texture.
To get the repeats right on texturing a hollowed prim's interior, divide the desired number of repeats by the hollow percentage. so, for example, on a box prim (4 sides), where you want a specific texture repeated once on each interior face, with a 90% hollow value, the calculation is 4/0.90=4.444. so you would use 4.444 repeats horizontally. You also need to adjust the offset horizontally to get the edges of the texture to line up with the interior corners of the hollowed surface.

The same way you apply the texture to the inside surface of any prim. Either drag the texture to the inside surface or use the edit tool to select that surface and select a texture.

Bear in mind that the inside face of a hollowed prim is always only one face. So, even though it may be 4 sided (if square is the hollow shape), that it will only be 1 face. If the prim is 'square' in terms of shape (i.e. 10x10x10), then the inside texture will need to have the scale set to 4 for Horizontal, and 1 for vertical. This is if you have, say, some seamless repeating texture. If you're wanting different imagery to appear, then you'll have to make the texture in photoshop or gimp, or whatever program you use. Just make the aspect ratio 4:1, for example 512x128. That way, once you upload and apply the texture, then the scale will be correct. You may also have to adjust the horizontal offset a click or so in the texture window.
Hope that helps.

Thanks Ceera and Johan. I learned something new today. Lightbulbs suddenly went off. I hope the OP found as much value as I did in your discussions.
