Im in a situation where I need to go back and verify to my land owner that I have paid them my tier fees for the past 5 months. They have told me I havent paid, but I know I did. When I go back into my transaction history, it only allows me to pull up the last month or 45 days....is there a way to go further back?? I desperately need to be able to do this because I know Ive paid.. =D Any and all help is greatly appreciated!!!

They are telling you that they want tier fees for five months? Why would they let you supposedly slide for five months? Did you ask your neighbors if they are pulling the same stunt with them?

No. 30 days is all you can get, unfortunately.

Strange. Why would any landlord have let you stay on the land for five months thinking they weren't being paid? Have they asked for back rent?
Personally, I would start looking for a new home. _____________________

You're hosed. It's "he said/she said" and you have nothing to back up your side of the story.
If the landowner was sharp, he or she downloaded their own transaction history once a month and has the data to prove their case. (hint: you should start doing this, for future problems of this sort). Or, some rental systems list transactions further back than LL does. Although the landowner doesn't sound real sharp, letting nonpayment slide for five months. Not that the landowner has to prove anything. Landlords can evict at any time, for any reason...or for no reason at all. I'm sorry...I'm not accusing you of anything, I'm sure you are simply in a Bad Situation not of your own making. But, unfortunately, you don't have much recourse here. As another poster suggested, looking for a new home is probably your best solution. _____________________

File a support ticket with Linden Research requesting the information.
Use the ticket type 'fraud'. Couldn't hurt. Let us know if you can get the info. _____________________

Really, Des? I seem to recall someone calling Live Help on this one recently, and being told the data simply wasn't available.

I'm not sure what they save, or don't save.
In any case, five months of tier could be substantial. I don't know the size of the land, but if it was, say, 200 USD/month we are getting out of petty theft territory. Of course, filing a ticket for fraud with Linden Research isn't the same as calling the police or the FBI ~ it's a far lesser scale ~ but if it's serious it's a good first step. Possibly enough to get rid of the he said / she said nonsense. On the other hand, if it was a 5 dollars a month thing, then all of us have already wasted more time on it than it was worth. I do think it's important that misunderstandings are cleared up and good faith business becomes expected on the grid, though. Five months? That's... a long time in the SL land biz, to have supposedly missed payments. I think there is more to this story somehow. _____________________

Hey everyone!! Thanks for responding. Unfortunately, Im at a loss on this one I believe. I called the help line for SL and they told me they simply can not go back any further than 30 days of transaction history. Im not happy about this at all but at this point, what do I do? This is the deal, the land did not have a rental box set up on it, therefore I paid her directly. if I wouldve known this was a 'possible' issue I wouldve downloaded and saved the transaction histories each month as suggested in an earlier reply to the thread.
As far as the time it took for them to say something, Ive known these people for 2 years. They are/were friends of mine, I guess that would explain why they waited so long to say something...with that being said, Ive never taken advantage of our friendship either, meaning, Ive always paid my tier EVERY month, regardless. Bills are bills.. and just because your friends with someone doesnt mean you dont have to pay... This is a 1024 lot that I pay 1500L's a month for, btw. I know thats not alot but when you look at it like this 5 months x 1500L= 7500L. In short, isnt that close to 35-40US dollars? Anyway...thanks for the responses... Ive definitely learned a lesson on this one... |

There's maybe a simple explanation.
Are you SURE you got the name right? I've had a couple of occasions recently where one of my tenants has a name with an extra letter in it...and there is another resident WITHOUT the extra letter. I wound up sending group invites, and in one case a $L300 rebate, to the wrong avatar. _____________________

This is why I always asked my Landlord to reply confirming that he received my payment, and kept the chatlog.

One small point is that the latest payment is almost certainly in the 30 days of Transaction History that you can still get hold of, so at least you do have that to show. If they say that you haven't paid since 5 months ago, you can show them that you have.
