Hi, yet again I find myself here with another (most likely silly) question. I am thinking about renting a home in sl and have noticed that most seem to come with a prim limit, i have looked at furniture and can see how many prims each item is made of so no problem there, but i was wondering do the prims that my avatar has attched count towards the total? How can i find out how many I have attached? And if friends come over to visit do their totals count too? Sorry if this has been covered before, i did do a search but couldnt find any answers :)

Prims attached to AVs do not count towards the parcel prim limits.

Prims attached to an avatar do not count toward the parcel prim limits.

To find how many prims are in an attachment, right-click it while you are wearing it and choose "edit" from the pie menu. You could add up the prims in each attachment to get a total prims worn, just for your own information, but it's not usually something you'd need to know.

Edit: Ha! Too slow! That'll teach me to add an extra paragraph...

Having rented several different places in the time I have been in SL, you will want to be aware of something that didn't realize for awhile. Some landlords include your house in the prim count, others don't. Just an FYI.

Think what a bummer that would be :(

Actually when I first began SL, I had the same question. :o

Now that the question has been answered...as a public service announcement:

Ever have anything in your inventory that you're not quite sure what it is? Try to rez it and - UH OH! not enough prims available.

No problem - just wear it and Voila! Now you know what it is! Since you're wearing it...no count toward prim total :)

on the other hand...

why not look at renting a home that is furnished for you...some (like mine) give you the option of having it furnished with few prims to personalise, or...having the furniture removed and your own gear in....

Most tend to keep our rather luxurious furniture and spend their lindens on other stuff..hmmm...like HAIR...or ...CLOTHES...lol
