I have Geforce 7300 turbocache 512mb and at the moment using driver 163.75
Has anyone updated their driver to the 169.21 and do they see any improvement on the new sl release.
I seem to be ok I think, I see everything and have no problems in moving around in sl or building. Just wondered if the new driver would increase the performance on the card on sl or not.

Maybe can check with your system manufacturers website to see it they offer that driver yet for your configuration. Or just try it. Nvidia drivers have been improving. If there is any issue you can uninstall them and reinstall the older drivers. |

MMm seems Dell are behind as the driver they are offering was released last November which I believe is the one I already have, its not the newest one according to Nvidia site. May do a restore point, and download the new driver and try it.

I had the 169 driver when I first got this computer.. It would not run SL at all. I had to roll back.

I have a Dell dimension in my office at work and have been updating with the Nvidia ones when they become available.. have never bothered with the Dell own downloads.
Have latest nvidia drivers and latest viewer release.. everything seems pretty stable. I think it's a 7800 or 7900 inside though.. |

Hi Rebecca by system manufacturers, do you mean Dell as it is a Dell Dimension Yes, look on Dells website in Sipport---Downloads---see what the latest driver is for your machine---use the service tag and look for the latests updates. See what number nvidia driver they have. if you want call them and ask them about the latest driver for your machine. |

I'm on 174.74 at the moment...I'd have to say it's been about the best preforming Nvidia driver to date with SL.
Now, it get this and other versions on a Dell you will most likely need to use an installer with a modified inf file. I've used the site www.laptopvideo2go.com for these files. I've never had a problem with the installations...and there are plenty of people willing to try an install first and comment about it in their forums. Windows did an automatic update to 169.25 for me and everything seems to work fine, but no noticeable improvements.

I had the 169 driver when I first got this computer.. It would not run SL at all. I had to roll back. funny, had the same expirience when upgrading driver reinstalled window and just fetched the lastest version, biiiigggg mistake, SL ran at -100 fps... reverted back to a saved version wich ran just fine, 162.18 and all good again oh, with an BFG 8800GTS OC2 320mb _____________________
