Hey,
if a group of premium accounts would form a group, each one buy his/her 512m² on mainland with all parcels being next to each other, and then join those tier-free parcels into one huge chunk of group land after deeding them to the group, would that chunk cost tier, and if so how much?
bye, LC

bye, LC No, it won't cost tier, assuming you all donate your free tier to the same group at the time of deeding the land. You'll even be able to buy 10% more land than the tier you donated without paying for it. You can actually do it the other way around, too - donate the tier to a group, then somebody in the group with permission to buy land for it can use that tier to buy one parcel. And again, none of you will pay any more than you already are doing.

Nope!! No Tier. And, by deeding to a group, you would get a 10 % bonus as well. So if you had 10 people, you could actually get another 512 parcel to go with it. Max

What am I not getting here? 2 things: The monthly premium cost isn't the cost of 512sqm of tier. It's the cost of premium membership, which includes 512sqm of tier, a weekly stipend, and in days gone by, use of the first land program. It also gives you the right to own Mainland land (which is less relevant now than it used to be). Note that the price for 512sqm (on top of the inclusive 512) is US$5. And also, there are discounts for higher tiers. Per sqm, it's cheaper to buy 65536sqm than it is 32768sqm, for example.

It's the cost of premium membership, which includes 512sqm of tier, a weekly stipend... ... and that stipend is not to be ignored in the equation. It's not as fabulous as it used to be, but even at L$300/wk, consider the tier-free cost of owning 512sqm for a year, at the annual Premium membership of US$72: Net of 52 weeks of L$300/wk stipend at say L$265/US$, that's US$13.13. At the most-discounted, full-sim tier rate of US$195/mo, ignoring stipend revenue and membership cost, owning that 512 for a year would cost US$18.28. Premium alts, anyone?

Ah, I knew there was something I was forgetting - if you pay your premium membership annually instead of monthly, it's only US$72 per year - or US$6 per month. And yes, you raise a good point about the stipend - the stipend used to be L$500 per week, or around US$8.18 per month, which is more than the cost of the annual premium membership, even before the value of the 512sqm is taken into consideration.
