Hi everybody. When I bought my little plot of land the "About Land" window said it was on a Class 5 Sim but now I'm going to resell I notice that none of the other parcels for sale in this region are claiming to be Class 5. I also would like to be able to check the class of sim I'm going to buy in the future. So not being able to find anything about it here or anywhere else I asked a Mentor at Help Island, he didn't know but suggested I submit a ticket which I did , here is the reply: "It is unfortunate to say that we can't disclose such info. If you want to ensure that you are buying a class 5 island, you can use our land store to purchase your own island." I only want to buy a little 1024m parcel. Maybe if you could check the Sim's class nobody would be able to get a reasonable price for class 4, I don't know, but at the moment it seems anybody can claim the land they're selling is class 5 and there's no way for a buyer to check. That is unless anybody out there can explain how to work out what class of sim a parcel is running on.

There is a method I use, which in my experience is quite accurate. However, Linden Lab has said on record that the method is not accurate...nonetheless I've been monitoring this for over a year now and I believe it to be true.
Go to the sim in question. Click on the Help menu, then About. Look for where it lists the server name, it will read "sim####.agni.lindenlab.com" where the #### is a number.
If that number is above around 2200 then it is a class 5 sim. If it is below roughly 2200 then it is a class 4 sim. I am "pretty certain" that this is accurate.

All of the eastern continents and much of the southernmost continent on the western side of the map are all Class 5 sims, having been released within the last year. The older mainland sims are probably class 4.

That should be class 5 - it's not far from Zed's Pitch, which I bought a chunk of land in around this time last year.

It could actually be a class 4 but it if is, it was probably one of the last ones LL had in their inventory.

-Atashi The inaccuracy comes from upgrades and replace/repair of the older servers. While there are class 5 server in the under 2200 list, there will not be class 3 or 4 in the over 2200 group. ... Well, there always exceptions so if you hit one it will be rare indeed.
