Hello, I have a very noob question... I saw in chat very beautiful images (hearts, roses, a wolf...) which are created with keyboard letters and symbols. A friend told me that are gestures, but he couldn't tell me more. Can you tell me where can I find them and how to use them?
thx in advance, Trisha

For a good video tutorial on how to use (subvert) gestures to make just chat lines, look no further than Toley's Tip of the Week http://blog.secondlife.com/2008/01/31/tips-of-the-week-19-text-chat-macros-20-quick-searching-the-issue-tracker/For the shapes and text characters that make them, Google for "ASCII Art". But ...... don't use it too much Pleeeease. It's kinda fun the first few times. After that, if someone is filling your screen with the stuff, it gets kinda old.

There are many places that sell gestures so a search in game should give you plenty of places to uy some pre-made. Gestures are sort of like little macros. They do some different things when triggered my a hotkey or when the shortcut is triggered in chat. The next time you are in game, hit F2. You will start clapping. F2 is the hot key for clap. You may also be using gestures already; type "/lol" and the line comes out "Yosef Okelly laughs out loud." You can create your own gestures with the editor. From the menu, choose Edit > Gesture. Just play with that screen a bit and you will get the hang of it. / \ \ \ |/\\__. | \___\ For example, the above could be made by Chating each line in sequence. The Gesture would have 4 lines, each being a chat command. Set it to trigger when you hit some key; Ctrl-F9 or whatever. Then spam the hell out of it until everyone has you muted Hope that helps.

And a few "ex" clubs to visit also.

Yep, those huge gestures is what got my mute-list started recently. Especially when they're repeated over and over again, it drives me nuts .

Yes, I can understand, it could be a sort of spam. But once in a while it could be funny IMHO, especially when I'm partying with some friends. Thank you all for the tips Trish

Keep your chat history open in the corner (make it small) then they won't fill you screen and drive you out of your mind

From: Lin Ochs Keep your chat history open in the corner (make it small) then they won't fill you screen and drive you out of your mind Should explain that I spend a lot of my time at live music gigs, where sometimes someone might want to say something about the music of where people are trying to chat. Or where hosts are trying to greet people or help folks who can't hear anything. If the gesture spam gets bad, everybody else might as well not bother saying anything. It only takes a few people with big gestures to make it impossible for anybody else to participate in conversation. .

I don't see them very often, but when I do see those big gesture thingummies they just make me smile as they seem to indicate the gesturer is having fun.

I hate the howls and the hooo's and the cheers and the ascii and whatever else ppl use to spam the chat window with, and even more so when they have stupid clips from movies attached to it aaaaand they play it over and over and over that is why I stopped going to clubs
