OK so why is it that nowadays, the most intuitive indicator of lag is whether your hair has followed you, or not? I have a nice simple prim hairdo, but I can always tell when things are going to be dull because I TP in bald as a coot (normally, with my sneaker up my ass too).
Is there something weird and specific about prim hair that causes this?

Unless you're the type that wears 400prim spiked boots *coughs*, prim hair can be your biggest attachment. Most hairs have at least 50 prims, with the wild ones going over 200... and more than half of it flexi. (^_^) If something is going to be laggy, it will be the one built with the most linked prims. (^_^)
In my latest hair project, I worked a lot to keep it under 60 yet still fit the Anime styling I like. It's one of my first hair builds that I'm not embarrassed to wear in public. (^_^)y
