How could this be?

Yesterday, griefers dump something new to me on neighboring parcels that allow anybody to create objects, they look like the ninja turtles boxes but with a clown face or something on them. I turn off particles and take a look at them with the build editor.

First, my land is group owned, about 32k sqm. Land is set to create-group only, object entry-anybody and run scripts-anybody. Autoreturn is 1 minute. This usually keeps problems away and allows people in airplanes to fly over.

But when examine these griefer objects tumbling over outside edge of my parcel that first, they were named "Object", but later, they were named with my name - easy enough in a script. But they also were set to the group of my land! They were also set to Physical. Every so many seconds, one of them would come hurling onto my land - those were the ones that had the group set to my group in the General information tab. The creator/owner was that of the griefer. The group is a closed group.

I cannot find anywhere in script wiki to set an object to a group. But these objects were! Is this normal when an object enters group land? Is the object now with permissions to rez copies of itself and cause my problems because it is set to my land group?

I logged off for a time, but then I receive IM from neighbor 2 sims from that land that the same thing was running on my smaller land there and that land is also setup the same as above.

It is all gone today...

Thank you to Guy Linden who arrived in a short time to look at the problem!

The prims weren't actually set to your group, there's a current bug with the edit window with prims that aren't set to any group showing as being set to a group.

There's a fairly simple repro for it if noone reported it on JIRA yet.

(Edited to point out that it's a client-side bug, the sim does know they're not set to the group)
