I have been looking for three months now for a domastic job in Second Life and still have not found any. Any suggestions or ideas how I would go about changing this?
thanks.

Perhaps you might be more successful if you widened your search terms to include "domEstic" jobs?

there's lots of cleaning buckets strewn throughout SL. go camping.

some lawnmowers in kids' sims, and possibly some rocking chairs to similuate a nanny. go camping.

you can become a Gor slave. not sure what category that is, but surely it involves being a lady in waiting for pay...

Maybe try the nation of Caledon - it's a Victorian Role Play. Maybe they're looking for nannies/maids there.

To be honest, few of the kid RP places that I know of have had much success with nannies or the like.

Someone should make a set of 'dust' prims that you place on furniture in your house. These start out invisible but a timer makes them gradually reveal a dusty texture. Then you have to use your feather duster with animation and dust particles to clean them by making them invisible again.

I gotta agree Mari but hmmmmm a nanny may be fun hehehe (polishes slingshot)

OP you may want to go to a adoption agency in SL, join the parents group, and offer your sevices there.

1. Learn how to spell "domestic".

2. Most "ladies maid" jobs are the Victorian equivalent of "Gorean slave girl", except you serve a Mistress rather than a master. I believe that they are also generally unpaid, save for the, er, fringe benefits.

3. Do you have the proper wardrobe? I seem to recall seeing some cute maid's uniforms at Bare Rose the other day.

Wow- the things one learns- I had no idea anyone really would hire a maid or nanny! I mean as a job not RP -

If you want to be paid for nonexistent cleaning in a virtual house, good luck to you.

If you want roleplay, there are queues of people hoping to find someone to 'serve' in this way. But they don't charge for it. Surplus of product, price drops to nothing.

Good luck.

They don't (so far as I know). That was my point...these "jobs" ARE roleplay.

If you are after an RP nanny type role or even a domestic, consider "The Crack Den" (Hathian sim), they have RP roles there, one of which is a Social Worker (works with the large child population there) and others include, teacher and maids in a motel type place.

If you're after paid employment...good luck as someone already said.

(OP) Uh...you might want to check the description of Crack Den sim before going there to roleplay. Lol.

I don't think it's the type of roleplay she's after with her 'nanny/ladies maid' request. Wild guess.

Actually you might be surprised, it's not all about what's in the description. There are perfectly innocent RPs going on in parallel with the other stuff.

Though you're right you should always check a place out to get a feel for it before diving in.

Yep I've been there - it isn't all like that, but if she's looking to replicate Mary Poppins she would be in the wrong sim.

Very true, though I didn't see any Mary Poppins references :)

Perhaps she would do well in the Stepford Wive's RP. She can be a "Stepford" maid/nanny.

I'm not sure they do. I know for sure in Gor no one is "paid" in lindens. Perhaps for the slaves new silks and the "fringe benefits."

Which reminds me I still need to purchase that flying umbrella mentioned in another thread.

Victorian ladies maid/nanny. I just extrapolated a bit and went with a soupcon of hyperbole. :p
