Running into the sea

I'm running SL on a new MacBook Pro. I'm using the OpenGL workaround to avoid freezing and crashing every five minutes but I'm still having some troubles. Every so often as I'm moving (walking, flying, even turning) my SL will freeze up. I can still move the mouse and select other windows, so it's not my machine freezing up.

When I have a freeze (every few minutes last night) my screen gets tsuck, but my avatar continues apace at his constant speed and vector. Sometimes this means I get stuck against a wall, other times it means that when my computer unfreezes five to twenty seconds later I am at the bottom of the sea. I'll still be charging ahead fullsteam until I hit the function key and stop my endless progress.

Does this happen to everyone? if not, why not? This happens no matter what my graphic settings are at.

Any help would be appreciated.

This is usually a lag thing, rubber banding gone beyond bad. Does it only happen in some places or everywhere? A flaky network connection can be one cause if nothing else screams out as an obvious problem.
