I want to update my profile pic, but I'm having trouble getting my image to a size SL will accept. It has to be no more than 50x50 pixels, or 19.5kb, whichever is smaller. But when I make an image 50x50 in Photoshop, SL still says it is too big. If I reduce the resolution, I end up with a miniscule photo (like what I have now). I have see that other people's profile pics look larger than mine. How did you do it?

Thanks

I dont use Bloatoshop for the easy stuff...

Open picture
Image->Resize/Resample to 50x50 pixels
Image->Decrease Color Depth to 256 colors (8bpp) or lower if needed
save and done

Didn't someone just have this problem? They had to make it a .png file or something, because .jpg wouldn't work.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Mine is a jpeg, 50x50 1.27kb. Is it possible you need to increase the compression when you save it?

Are you saving it as a BMP? Save it as a JPG and it'll only be about 1/10 as big.

yeah, that. mine is 50x50, but i'm not sure of the size. try 65% or so compression on the jpeg, at that size you won't notice the quality.

I recently had a problem with a profile picture for another site. It just wouldn't upload even if the size and everything was fine. I just opened it on my desktop and took a screenshot of it and was able to use that one. (.bmp ->.png)
