The grid is borky.
SL dumps people - usually in Linden land - when borkiness happens. I've ended up in a cloud of a 100 or so grey avatars at times. The chat can be quite funny. I was driving around Sansera a while back and got stopped at Braunsworth. I did notice one guy playing a purposeful stride animation and carrying a briefcase. He was stuck in place about 5 m above the road. THere was something sad about the image  |

I just got dumped in Hanja and couldn't move, couldn't teleport out, and it said it had sent me to "a nearby region" because the region I was in was unaccessible. Like hell, it wasn't even on the same continent. I don't know how many avatars were in the region because I couldn't bring a map up, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was over 40.

slightly off topic but... this incident in Braunworth reminds me of one of my most memorable funny moments in SL. I was doing a mentor newbies bit at an info hub. While there it suddenly started raining naked avatars!!! Dunno how many, too many coming in too fast to count lol... and some stuck in some very compromising animations and gestures LOL!!! I was able to IM one and found out she was at a popular sex club when sim crashed or was rebooted and she (and i assume the others) were all sent to the info hub. So wished I had a snap of this, but i was laughing to hard at the time to think of it.

Something similiar happened a year or so ago. I was sitting on my dock next to a protected ocean sim when it started filling with avis. This went on for awhile until the sim crashed. Don't remember the date, but sims were crashing all around, and logins were being piled up on Linden sims.

id like to put together a website with "most memoriable moments" snap shots and videos, but since i joned SL kinda late, i was at the tail end of the griefing, crashing and grid closures, i didnt get much video or snapshots to document it.
