I have NO idea what a mini skirt extension prim is.

But it sounds vaguely nasty.

lol ummmm well it is a piece of wood yes wood or sculpted prim place in the ummmm private section of the female legs to hide the mini skirt gap * sips coffee* in hopes someone has a better explanation of this item:) I don't think my coffee is working yet :)

most just use a cylinder.. Some use sculpty.. (which look WEIRD) before rezzing stuck in that special place...personally I use old fashioned cylindar split & doubled and adjusted to fit.

You know these things look great while the avatar is standing but when your avatar gets to moving around you have this... thing sticking out of your... well....

; ) well I hope that helps. You can buy full sculpty skirts on Xstreet if you just must... They just shrink them down to fit between the legs.

Ty so much for your reply I have done what you said already prior to posting and your answer was the one I was looking for no matter how perfect I get it to fit it still moves.

hehe, yeah these things are very easy to make and look great while you're standing still. But, we’re working with prims here. So, when the avatar moves in and out of certain positions…you notice the prim won’t stretch with you. That’s just the way it goes and there is no way to prevent this that I know of. :)

I use system skirts for minis, and all my other skirts too. With care they can look as good as prim ones. Both types have drawbacks. I make my own alpha textures, giving them a wavy hemline and pleat shadows. I also set all the fit values as tight as possible. If I want a lower waist, I cover the gap with a prim belt, again of my own design - so it fits me.

One reason I've stuck with system skirts is that they behave more realistically if you bend over or sit down - whereas prim ones can look like an upturned bucket swinging about!

BUT...BUT...BUT....As for the mini-skirt extensions...

I think you mean the filler pieces used with skin-tight minis (which are made on the jacket or pants layer). These look like attachments made from a pair of sections of a flattened, hollowed cube or cylinder - one piece at the front and one at the back, linked as a single object. I'm not sure if these little filler pieces are normally set as flexible or not. I imagine the best attachment point for these fillers is 'pelvis', but they will always move a bit in relation to the rest of the skirt - there's no way round that problem.

yes I agree after wearing the one I made for two days now I must admit the movement is looking odd but I have it slimmed down to almost nothing now and it looks ok. I have used system skirts in the past and while they look ok I cant seem to get rid of that little bubble butt so the just of the post is being female and looking like a real skirt might either make you have a big butt or an odd part of wood as an extra body part!

Many women that wear system skirts simply use a second copy of their shape that has the butt slimmed down to almost nothing - then it looks proper with the system skirt.

I've seen several ways of providing that gap-filling panel. I much prefer the ones that use TWO prims, one front and one back, because it provides more adjustability.

If it's moving try a different attachment point.

Yes, I do that. In fact in each of my outfit folders I keep a copy of the appropriate shape so I never get caught 'out of shape'! However, with mini-skirts, I find my normal shape goes OK (I am quite skinny). Using a modded shape doesn't give the game away at all with normal length skirts but it does show with minis.

Best one I've found to use with clothes layer minis is a cylinder, cut in half, hollowed, and squished mostly flat front-to-back.. gives you a slightly bowed panel that curves inwards more sharply at the sideways edges. One for front and one for back seems to work best for me.
I've seen some skirts that were hybrids, with a prim skirt waist that blends into a system skirt bottom around the hips. A decent option if a person can texture well, but still kinda looks crappy when you sit. Walking, and most standing is fine though.

A real miniskirt is easy. Buy a flexi prim skirt with mod/copy option (if you have none in your inv at the moment), shrink the single parts ~50%, ready.

There are lots of full prim minis that don't need to be worn with any pants. I think I've seen a couple recently advertised in the fashion consolidated group. It seems that every big clothing store has em nowadays.

I can't stand those kind of miniskirts in SL. I have a few, and have even managed to make a couple of them look almost "normal" with a hell of a lot of tweaking (the best of these use two prims, not one)... But, I far prefer the more conventional flexiskirts. They just look more natural to me.
