Strange Goings on in SL....

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone can shed some light on a rather strange inventory issue I have had. It has followed a few other minor problems and may take a little while to explain, I just hope it makes sense....

Over the last week I have been having various "issues" with SL. Some temporary, some not. These include:

1. Voice activating by itself - on 5 occassions this week I have been told my voice is on. It is showing to me that it is off, and there is no visual indication of it. I have to engage it and then disengage it for it to stop. Not really a huge problem, but it shouldn't happen.

2. Outfit "X" which contains a shirt layer, a jacket layer and a pant layer. Was a perfectly good outfit until this week when my pants decided to disappear... I was still showing that I was wearing pants, but they weren't visible to me or anyone around me. This was rectified by wearing and underwear layer or socks... again minor but a little embarrassing.

These are just examples of the issues I have been having so that you are aware that this isnt just a problem occuring on its own, all of them seem to have occured at the same time as one another. With that said:

Now for #3. The one I can't seem to rectify.

I am a neat freak. My inventory is about as organised as it gets. Now I will try to explain this as best as I can. I had a folder in my Notecard Folder called, for the sake of this discussion "Main Folder". Inside it were 4 subfolders and a notcard not filed anywhere. We will call these subfolders 1, 2, 3 and 4. Now right about the time these other problems started I went to my inventory to look at this folder and it was gone. So I did a bit of digging. The unfiled notecard had moved into just my normal notecard folder, and folder 2 had moved to lost and found. 1, 3 and 4 were nowhere to be found. So I cleared cache and rebooted. Folder 4 turned up in my lost and found, but 1 and 3 were still missing in action. So as a last ditch attempt i uninstalled and reinstalled the viewer (I am using the 1.22.11 viewer- I updated about 4 weeks ago). Folder 1 appeared in my notecards however I was about to give up on folder 3. And then, I found it. Only trouble is, I can't do anything with it. It has moved to the very top of my inventory. If all folders of my inventory are closed I see Folder 3, Inventory and Library. I can view the notes in it, but i cant c&p anywhere, nor can I pass them, or move the folder. I can't add to the folder and I can't delete it. Has anyone come across this before and does anyone know how to fix it... Its been a few days now and its not fixed itself as I had hoped.

You most likely have a corrupted inventory. Since it is on LL's server, clearing cache won't solve the problem.

Submit a support ticket.

(I had a similar problem, subfolders moved to the top level and un-moveable or delete-able. LL was able to fix the problem in short order.)

Hi, Shannon! It's a pleasure to meet another inventory neat freak!

I've had situations where sub-folders in my inventory "moved themselves" to another folder.

For example, I would be looking through perhaps a folder where I kept class notes and find a clothing sub-folder in it that was filed away under "Clothing" in its sub-category.

I've had this happen several times. Spooky.

I had 2000 items just go poof from my inventory,i put a ticket in to LL but they were unable to retrieve any of the missing items
It happened when i had two inventory windows open and when i closed one thats when i lost the 2000 items

I've taken to removing the SLVoice executable, and it's made SL quite a bit more reliable for me, even though I haven't turned it on in a year.

Speaking of "spooky" ... I was walking along my Zooby's made black panther with some friends. Then suddenly .. out of nowhere, fly aross our eyes another black panther .. the whole thing lasted no more than 2 seconds. W'all thought someone, a furry has flew by - but none of us saw his/her name flashed on our radar. Then my neighbour told me that he has seen thing looking like my pet flew across his land ... objects are not supposed to be able to leave the owner's home w/o being thrown back into our 'lost n found' folder ... I looked into my 'lost n found' folder, panther isn't there. That is strange & spooky!!!!

Do you just delete the .exe file, or what? Which files exactly are you removing?

I blame ferrets.

slvoice.exe on Windows, and I think maybe another file, I don't recall the name of it offhand. I know it when I see it, but I've deleted it!
