So I spent like an hour (probably more as I lost track of time) working on a very detailed belt and then tried to copy to make backup.. curser hang.. OPS! take into inventory (poof it's gone) went to attach to pelvis not in inventory.. where the heck is my belt?
I rebooted cause you know sometimes it will just show up again.. but nuttin.. I am not sure I can go through the painstaking process of inserting micro prims again.. omg give it back!

I had a very close friend of mine lose a couple thousand items from her inventory - including a huge chunk of her own for sale items - in the last couple days. I've learned the hard way never to try taking anything into inventory first of all. Always try to take a copy. That way if the asset server's borked, your original should remain inworld, barring a sim rollback or restart.
I did at least get a copy of my fireplace, in the end. _____________________

Well, one day I logged into SL during a borked up SL weekend. My entire inventory was gone...EVERYTHING. I relogged, cleared cache...did just about everything I could think of. After a few hours of deciding it would probably show up at some point, I decided to take one last stab at it and reset the filters on the inventory tab. That worked wonders. It all came back. Mind you, I never touched the filters, and they looked like the normal settings to me. But I clicked reset on a whim, and that's exactly what fixed it.

I feel your pain last night 5k of my things vanished for most of night which all included all my personal textures, etc.

I cannot recommend this enough when it comes to backing up your builds.
They go on your harddrive and can be put back into SL when the asset server does it's usual or if you accidentally delete it from your invo. I bought this and LOVE it: http://shop.onrez.com/item/566337 _____________________
