Problems with CSI portal?

Has anyone tried creating an alt using the CSI:NY portal? I tried it a little while back (just over a week) for a first name I wanted. I've had no confirmation email with the password to log in. Worse still, when I tried again, I'm told the email addy is already in use, so they obviously recorded my first registration.

I've had a check and the email account works fine. It's not blocking emails from anywhere else, and it hasn't junked the message. I could always create an alt elsewhere, but I'm still bugged at what happened. I wonder if this counts as another resident for LL market ting purposes? No wonder no-one can get the names they want.
