With the adult policy, are pictures of nude people (real ones), including female breasts, allowed in a public place like a store, in a Mature sim?

My guess would be No.

No. "Photo-realistic nudity" is considered adult if it's advertised or publicly promoted.

They may make an exemption for artistic value, but I'm not sure how far I'd trust them to do it.

Given that you weren't supposed to show even pixelated nudity on a prim outside of a building in Mature before? I'd go with a bigger no now.

With LL's spotty performance on enforcing polices and rules... it's just better to be safe than sorry.

Thank you for the replies. It's not me who wants to sell them, so there's no need for me to safe rather than sorry :)

Even at skin stores, not allowed? I see them all the time on skins for sale on mature sims. Are skins exempt?

I asked live support who suggested I put a ticket in to ask the question, which I've done.

And no, it's nothing to with me, Tarina.

A skin on an avatar is not deemed a "photorealistic" depiction according to the LL docs I read. As far as a nude human photograph, that is qualified as restricted from Mature land. (>_<;)

Though, I would be the last person to ever consider ARing it. I think the rule, as it stands, already goes too far and dilutes the intent of Mature land with PG policies. (>_<;)

In principle I agree, however many were run off to Zindra to offer "adult" content and abide by the rules, then we have skin shops (one in particular) that had huge photos of female breasts on the outside, campers all over, more nude *real* pictures inside and was a PG sim.

It's no wonder that merchants run off to Zindra complain that they're not being treated equally.

they were not being treated equally because when they were moved over there it was actually the only land in sl that was forced to live under the adult guidelines before they were enacted..where the same types of places could still operate with full advantages on the older mainland..

Still the enforcing of the rules on the older mainland sucks and probably always will..Like the OS thing..i'm willing to bet it was just a good way to get an influx of monies..

all to improve our user experience of course(sarcasm) hehehe :D

It's discrimination! You can have a pic of a bare chested man but not of a woman? You can go topless in NY's Central Park (too cold to try it now). Are the laws in San Francisco more conservative than NY? Say it ain't so LL!

I got an answer from the ticket I put in. Basically, it says what was thought - that "Photo-realistic nudity; photo-realistic means that an image either is or cannot be distinguished from a photograph" is to be in Adult regions and not in Mature ones. That's taken from the KB article and is the answer to my question. So nude, revealing, RL pics are not allowed in public places in Mature sims.

Custom and practice says different however, you'll find plenty.

I know some - that's why I asked in the first place.
