Good hair vendors?

The skin thread was such a roaring success as far as I'm concerned that I thought I would ask about hair. You can't have a nice skin with cheap looking hair, IMO. I have some nice hair, and a lot of hair I would never dare put on a nicer skin. So! Does anyone have hair vendors they would recommend to me? TY!

Same advice, try demos as much as you can. With prim hair, an additional piece of advice: Use the Advanced menu to find "Info Displays > Avatar Rendering Cost" and turn it on when testing prim hair demos. A low number (green-yellow) means it will render fast, higher number (orange-red) means slow rendering aka LAG.

I have both high and low ARC hairstyles, so that if I find myself in a laggy environment I can switch it. (Also useful to know the ARC on one's clothing, for the same reason.)

Low ARC hair (tend to be less realistic but more interesting styles and colors):
Calla
ETD

High ARC hair (tend to be flexi, alpha, more realistic):
Laqroki
Cake

Not sure which category Gurl6 falls into, but they offer free hair for 30 days and under.

Most of my hair is from Gurl 6 and Goldilocks. Deviant Kitties has a lot of great hair, too.

Dreads: Jonah Dreads.

Regular hair: Deviant Kitties

Afros: Queue Marlowe

- That's all I use, pretty much. :)

Queue also sells (or maybe it was free) a HUD that will recolor her hairs, and many other hairs - as long as they are modifiable and worn on the right attachment points. :)

I sent my 30-day-and-under notecard to the Gurl6 person, as per the instructions, and got no response. So I sent it again. No response. No free hair for me. I find the Gurl6 store completely overwhelming anyway.

I will check out the others! Cool.

I like vixen, but I like her old stuff. I am not so impressed with the new stuff.. I dont like full brite or resizing scripts......

I actually liked A.D but.... all those hairs result in the transparency issue...

Aveda still a favorite.....I wear the short crop a lot.

I have some fabulous hair that has the transparency issue. I didn't realize it till I installed Windlight. It's very disappointing.

Gurl6 *is* a bit overwhelming, though mainly because nothing is arranged by style (or at least wasn't the last time I was there), but they have some really nice hair there.

Dark Mouse has some really amazing, realistic hair. They don't have the selection of ETD, Goldilocks, or any of the other "big box" stores.... but what they lack in selection, they more than make up for in quality.

Fri.day is new to the hair scene with some really nice styles. Very limited selection, but worth checking out, landmarking them, and keeping an eye on them.

Damselfly (adjustable prims)

Calico Ingmann Creations (great styles, some with hats)
ETD

Gurl6 (lots and lots of styles)
Analog Dog
Sirena (a few style with hairpins you can wear/remove for updos/casual)

I wear a lot of Truth and ETD hair, plus Deviant Kitties when I'm in a more 'wild' mood.

Also, check out this Flickr stream:

It requires everyone to post their 'look' details, so if you see something you love, you'll know exactly where to get it.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
