Just logged out then in again and SL says logins are disabled. What's going on? There is nothing on the grid status page... -_-

Just got this inworld message:
[14:50] Teagan Linden: We are currently investigating a database issue. Please avoid making important transactions or rezzing no-copy objects.

Calm down, Shane. It'll be back up soon. Last time I looked there were almost 76,000 users inworld. That's about the most I've seen SL handle so far, and the databases have been throwing a wobbly for about half an hour now. Give it a few; you'll get back in

Not that many months ago it wobbled at 60k. And not that many months before that it was wobbling at 50k. It's been fairly stable for me at 70k lately; only when it's gone above 74k-ish do the problems seem to start.

This thread is back.

I saw this one coming. I was unable to copy and paste in inventory and then unable to move the communication and inventory boxes on my screen. I logged out to get a better connection and got told that there were too many logins to let me back in.
Concurrency = 72, 752
I know it's still intercession, but now I'm waiting for th edoor to swing open again. If any one else is locked out, you aren't the only one.

If SL wishes to compete as a serious Global game..it has to find a way of allowing more than 70k online...to be honest..its getting old now.

I personally am a bit disappointed to see that LL's recent (highly touted) strides in the area of "stability", have failed again to keep pace with the needs of the grid.
Honestly, things were really looking up for LL, the grid was relaible, the viewer was stabilizing, they were hiring people to deal with usability (instead of the old linux issue of letting the programmers decide the UI).
I hope we pull out of this soon, because it's clear that SL has the potential for more users, and thereby more inworld transactions, more content... etc.. but it's the infrastructure of SL itself that seems to be holding SL back from it's own potential.

At the beginning of the year, Second Life was having problem with 60,000. In the course of a year, Linden Lab has figured out how to increase concurrency by 17%. Hey, it's a good thing that Second Life's user base finally stopped growing so fast, isn't it?

I'm in-world now, but my feet won't rezz, nor will my normal eye colour - I look scarey! Lol.
I can't walk, or move properly, and I have a feeling there will be a full forced log out soon - I wouldn't blame them if they did it, just to ease the pressure on the servers and sort the problem.
I would say you guys out of SL at the moment are better off, as it is so jerky and frustrating, but I am an SL addict, so am sitting on a beach watching the sea jolt its way up and down the pebbles. lol. Some of my IM's aren't working either. You guys really aren't missing much in-world.
