Okay at least one group I'm in has several optional active titles via a dropdown menu. I'm trying to give options im a group I created, with no success...even I as owner can't change my title. I have the default Owner and Everyone groups, not renamed, but gave each a title, and created a few new roles, renamed each, and gave each new role a title identical to its name, and gave each role the ability to change role names, titles, and descriptions. I don't know if that last step is necessary, I tried it when after seeing group title couldn't be changed. When I find my name in the group I'm in that allows the optional tags, there is a list of all the roles and the ones available to me are checked, the ones not available to me are not checked. In the group I created, and by the way I'm pretesting all this using an alt, the alt only sees the Everyone role checked, the rest are unchecked.
Sorry to make the question so long, just wanted to make everything clear. So what am I not doing right?

Just create new do-nothing roles, with the tags you want, then assign people to them. They'll be able to choose from any of theor assigned role tags. (they can wear any of those and still get access to all their other role powers).

Well if you want "everyone" (for example) to have a choice of several tags... create another role named "everyone" and give it a different tag ....make as many as you like, just spell and type then the same way then everyone in that "everyone" role will be able to choose themselves.

Okay thast helped somewhat. But now the alt has two tags available, the Everyone one and the one I invited her to, but not the others. How do I make the other tags available to everyone? The group I mentioned that I was already in offers at least six tags, and that was a group I join through open enrollment. As I recall, at the time I joined it, there was only one tag available, then there was a group notice saying we were being given other tags to choose from, then BAM! there they were. So how do I give 5-6 choices, it obviously can be done. Thanks for the help.

I'll guess that someone did the grunt work of going through the member list to add everyone to those other roles. You can look at that other group under the member and roles tab to see if that is how you are set up.

As Viktoria said, you have to assign each member to each role that has a tag you want them to be able to wear.
Go to the members/roles tab, select the member's name, and fill in the checkboxes next to those roles for that member. Apply the changes, and the individual should now have all those titles available on their dropdown.
