It seemed the sim i was in had crashed, it turned red, so i quit sl, and went back on it, got back on fine, to notice i was underground, or so it seemed, could not see my avatar, was at a diff place in the same sim i had logged out from, 10, 10, 10 were the co-ordinates, when i tried to chat, i did not see it on the screen, i only saw other ppls chat, if i tried to IM someone my name was : hello (my name was nothing) , my linden was loading, all the people in my contacts were (waiting) or (hippos), so i decided to relog, this time, i cannot even get into sl, i get the same error every time : Unable to connect. Login packet never received by login server. So i went to the help site, the only things it suggest say that your internet may not be working, well it is. And also to check the blog and status, nothing on the blog, status is fine. WHAT TO DO!? Ive attempted to log in multiple times now, still with the same error, and im really annoyed. PLEASE HELP!!!

I dont know if its related but a relative keeps crashing now if she tries to upload a texture.

On your login screen at the top is edit. Under edit is preferences. I believe on the first tab you can change your login location. Change to a different region then try logging in.

Might get you unstuck

You don't mention having cleared cache (both manually and in prefs). Have you?

CLearing the caches did not help in her case. :(

It is similar to that link.

Started when trying to preview a Upper body top (.tga)on the female model.

But once it started it now happens with anything.

Cleared all the caches.

Still happening.

Had her log in with an older viewer (non windlight) she can upload fine. So this might well be an issue with the new release.

Seems to be a client issue for sure. But not for everyone.

You are doing better than I am. Half the time I cant even remember how to get TO the jira much less find anything on it. :P

Well as long as the older client still works to upload we are ok. I suppose I should try putting the new client on the Mac and see if it has the same problem as my Windows box.

wanders off muttering incoherently to himself about having to touch Macs and things blowing up. ;)

Trick is once you load Jira, you go make some tea while it's looooading.....it really does suck.

I'd have her add her comment to whichever of those tickets is closest to the problem she's having Darkness, at least.

You may aleady have your solution in these replies......but another thing to consider when you crash or have to log out........it's best to wait a good 10/15 minutes to allow SL to completely log you out. Otherwise every time you try to log in it disrupts the process....as it is still trying to log you out from previous attempt.

I've had this issue on a couple occasions and it's just a good little tidbit of info to be aware of. If you are continually unable to log in......always 'wait'. It doesn't seem like that was entirely your issue here. But I have often found a lot of glitches resolved themselves if I just walk away and try to re-log later on.
