Is there any way I can stop SL remembering my username? I have unticked the 'remember password' box so my password is not remembered, but what about username? It is always there.

When you log out, go back to the log in page and delete your user name and quit. It's a bit long winded, but it should work. Good luck xxx

but why not? i am so thankful to not have to retype my name every time i log in.
my computer was set up to erase all user memory of any sort when i log off of any program, but i became annoyed at having to retype everything, so now it's only set to do that with browser features... depending on the age of your computer, you might want to utilize this feature if you have it.

Perhaps Biggie doesn't want someone else in his household to know his SL username. /me is just speculating.

Rather than go to all that effort (and have to remember to do it each time)...
If you want to keep your computer activities private from other people who also use the machine, set up a separate Windows user account for yourself, and password protect it. Also, password protect your screensaver, and set it to a short activation time. That way, if you leave the machine and forget to log out, Windows will secure itself for you.

Yep, just don't want others here to no my SL identity. Already have windows account and password but not a solution.

In addition to saving your avatar name for your login screen, Second Life creates a subdirectory in the appdata directory with your avatar name. Typically this would be (pre-Vista):
C:\Documents and Settings\WindowsUserName\Application Data\SecondLife\avatar_name
