Did anyone find SL really slow these two or three days? Objects take almost a minute to rez, teleports take forever (half the time it logs me out), lots of chat lag even in places with little lag, poses take much longer to show, buttons take several clicks to respond (for example, the "stand up" button), and even search results and profiles take much longer than usual to show. There's no problem with my internet as my usual surfing is completely normal. Even though I am really far from the US, SL worked perfectly fine for the last few weeks, so that couldn't be a problem either.

It is horrible and has been going on for longer than the past few days- it's just worse now- grey goo everywhere laughable fps- there was a theory floated the other day that all the recent Big Events- like the Land one going on now - are pushing the whole grid and it isn't handling things well - well, I don't know if that is true or not- but something is messing things up- it is very laggy everywhere

Not to mention these forums too. Sometimes I wonder if they have already been abandoned.
I haven't really noticed many problems in world though, but I spend a lot of time 1000 meters in the sky surrounded by empty parcels for sale. _____________________

I rezzed a not-too-fancy house in a good sim last night for a friend that usually takes just a few seconds. Last night, we waited for a few minutes, and you yould see the single prims wandering to their place...

That theory about the Big Events was mine. Keep an eye on the grid and note what it's like after this ends (I don't recall the ending date for the Land Expo, somebody else know?), and we'll see what things are like then. Based on past observations from my three years in Second Life (Friday the 5th was my original avatar's third rezday), the theory appears to be quite sound.

I have to agree, though I've not watched this to any degree you have. It makes much sense though based on my recollections over the time I've been here. Oh, and so sorry I missed your main's rezday! The last couple of days has been a nightmare, being logged out on average once every hour or so and the good old lag seems worse, ah well the normal predictable SL experience getting worse

I have been finding chat lag to be an issue over the last few days also Lot's of hunts going on as well. Lot's of people chatting and TPing from one hunt location to another, sharing clues, etc.... Tons of lag if you share resources with one (or more!) of the places participating in the hunts. _____________________

I spent a couple hours the other night live chatting and in-world with 2 different Lindens and even a ComSys guy, talking about the recent sim-stall issues that have been torturing my home region for the last couple weeks or so.
It's pretty easy to make happen: find a mostly-empty region and fly in circles - just hold down the left & up arrow keys - and have a friend TP into the region. As the come in, you'll go flying off in a straight line as the sim freezes up and the viewer prediction stuff takes over. How long the stall lasts seems to depend on how prim/script heavy the person coming in is and how busy the region already is. I've seen close to 30 seconds on a region with only 6-7 people on it. Also seen smaller versions of this happen when people TP out or just at random, without people coming/going. If this is the problem you're seeing, LL is definitely aware of it... _____________________

I've also noticed this for a while now but very recently it's been even worse. It has been taking forever for textures to load lately, makes exploring sl not very much fun at all.

is anyone getting page not found when replying? ![]() Oh, and you don't need to be flying in circles to notice the sim-stall. Simply crossing sim borders results in "lag-walking" across half the new sim before the sim-to-sim handover completes. This has always been a problem to a small degree, but it has gotten much, much worse in the past several days. _____________________

Oh, and you don't need to be flying in circles to notice the sim-stall.. Yep.. It's just a good way to notice when the problem happens.. If you're just sitting around or moving in a straight line, it's very possible to not even notice it. _____________________

Lol -an hour and a half ago- I pressed the "log in" button. An hour and a half later, which is now, it managed to get to the "connecting to region" status in the loading bar. *Claps* Congrats to SL, a huge improvement over how we can't even log in at all a few months ago. [/sarcasm]

Large Vehicles having terrible time Sim crossing
06-22-2009 23:09
There is definately something wrong with sim performance across the grid. I spent a lot of time refining the scripting on my drivable yacht Luna, so that when she crosses sims, it is as smooth as possible.
About two weeks ago, I took a couple of avs out on a demo, and we crossed sim after sim for about twenty mintues and encountered no problems. Then, a day or two later, and ever since, crossing a single in my yacht has resulted in freezes and crashes for everyone riding. I've tried testing out a few different water sim communities, and all with the same result of locking up everyone and sending us to bizarre coordinates. If any Lindens are reading this... Please fix this mess! It's hurting SL businessses! ~Servian Serevi |

Much slowness. Unable to contact groups. Especially naughty ones. Slow to rez. Tps pften end in a crash. Gluey generally. I havent downloaded the new one coz I don't trust it. I stay up around 14 - 15 hundred metres - its better there.

The quality and predictable offensive starts now. 24 hours was my home-sim down. The map was not only yellow and purple, the map was yellow, purple and red along the whole weekend. Several hundred or thousand sims down. IMs broken, chat-lag, no TP, no login for hours, no rezzing, after some hours the system was able to show me the beauty of the korean hub and I could admire myself one hour as green cloud, surrounded by green clouds and grey dwarfs - and additional we have today, or exact: since yesterday, a complete broken blog which closes browser windows, or loading endless and no messages coming through. Plus the new viewer is a joke.
Only the forum works somehow. Maybe this is a new showcase for the millions of outside waiting new edu. org. .com customer groups. And tomorrow the monster-lag celebrates its 6th birthday. Congrats. For that we pay all in all 350 000 000 $ a year. And on 29th starts another quality thing... Scientists which are working on chaos theory will find here best conditions to study brutal chaos under live conditions. |

The birthday sims just opened up at 10 I believe, this morning. How's the lag, anyone been inworld? The sim stall bug that Sindy mentions on the previous page is still very much alive. High-turnover traffic areas like SL6B should be fairly torturous. _____________________
