Hey all! Hoping someone can share some light on my situation. I searched, but couldn't find anything about it here, or in technical help. Lately whenever I've purchased something, (an outfit or what have you) that has sculpted prims involed, I cannot modify them. If the outfit uses regular shaped prims I can modify them just fine! (ie: the skirt prim can be edited but the sculpty sleeves cannot) I'm sure the maker didn't mean for a part of the outfit to be mod, and part no-mod! It's happened on 3 different outfits and an avatar! Edit: in the inventory window - the items do NOT say "no modify". However in the edit window it states - 'you cannot modify this object' Any ideas why? thanks for the help!

it is very possible that they did make the sculpt parts no mod, contact the creator to see for sure, it could have been a simple oversight on their part.
A lot of builders do not leave sculpts mod because they fear people will lift the sculpt from the edit window (screen shot)
When I first heard of this I tried it just to see if it did work, and yeah, it did, but... the sculpt was no where near perfect and unless someone has the knowledge (which I do not) of how to work with a sculpt in maya, wings3d or whatever else is out there, the sculpt is useless.
(I tried it so I would know if it was worth it to take the none alpha's textures for sculpts and turn them into alpha's before using them to avoid someone stealing the textures I purchased)
Once I found out that it is not a simple as some think, process, I just do not bother to alpha them, and I make stuff with sculpt, modifiable.
I figure if the ones who I buy it from are not worried about someone lifting them, neither am I.

Thank you for the reply - but I have contacted all the makers, and they have definitely made the outfits and sculpty prims moddable. They are going to send me replacements, but I'm worried that there's some kind of glitch I'm overlooking.

Well here's an update on my problem. I got some of the outfits sent to me again by the maker, and still, any sculpty part in that outfit is unmoddable by me, even if it says I can in the inventory. I'm starting to wonder what this is about. here is the new outfit she sent me, assuring me every prim was moddable. As you can see, It doesn't say "no modify" in my inventory, but SL itself is not letting me mod it either! Everything I've bought in the last 3 days is like this! http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a110/Lucahjin/nomodproblem.jpg] [/img] Just to see what would happen, I logged onto my other account, bought an outfit with sculpties, and sure enough - I could not mod them. And I know they are moddable in the outfit. ( I have the same one on my other account that I've modded months ago ) Can anyone offer me advice on what I should do?

micah I am going to log in and create a general linked set of prims, and a couple will be sculpty. I will make sure to make it all mod/copy (just like the ones you are getting) and let me know if you can mod these ones.
K?

What happens if you rez it and try to edit, and what happens if you make a copy in inventory - does it have the same permissions?
