What is happening when an avatar gets distorted like this? Is it a script or an animation triggered by a script? I touched a "do not touch" button a while back that did this, it may have orbited my avatar in the process. Is that what causes it? Orbiting to a really high altitude? Inquiring minds want to know.

![]() This happened to Mo and I last night. In peeking in the contents tab of the offending ice chest, there were several animations and may have been attachments though I am not sure- I do believe there was a script of some sort also though I did not look closely- see what happens when one looks to closely... http://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=776518 _____________________

Yeah, an animation got played against those avatars and probably you, they are usually called "deformers". A relog will fix, there are also free scripts around that will play a pile of animations to try to fix it in world, try looking around for undeformer.

I did the "don't touch me!" on another person, they were wearing a "tool", war toy, it looked like a giant orb on them in highlight, where that was one of the features. So I got deformed, laughed it off, danced, continued building and chatting w/ a friend mutated.
Then got bored of that and relogged and came back like that, nothing would undo it, the stop anims or undeformers. A mentor mentioned to not log back into the sandbox but Home or another sim and that worked. I was logging in on Last Locale and the persons' war toy was keeping my avie deformed. _____________________

I'd like to point out though, that there are good uses of these animations. They're called deformers for obvious reasons, and are really great for making large full prim avatars. They're used to make the fully jointed dragons made famous by Seawolf, and my own quarter horse sized kirin and horse avatars. To stop these deformers, you have to play the undeformer for the affected body part. Avatars using deformers come with such and play them automatically when the avatar is taken off. The only thing you have to watch out for is that it's very difficult to get the collar and thigh joints to reset correctly, due to LL's default animations being wonky. The Seawolf creators and I are all working on that though, so even that won't last long.
For malicious deformers like those shown in this thread, grab a copy of a Stop All Animations gadget that includes undeformers. |
